WAKELAND BOYS AND GIRLS SOCCER HAD AN INCREDIBLE RUN THIS SEASON.

THE GIRLS WENT INTO THE STATE SEMIFINAL WITH AN UNDEFEATED RECORD OF 25-0.

THE TEAMS OVER THE LAST SIX SEASONS HAVE ADVANCED TO THE STATE SEMIFINALS, AND THE WOLVERINES BOYS SOCCER TEAM MADE THEIR 10TH APPEARANCE IN THE STATE TOURNAMENT AND WERE PURSUING THEIR SIXTH TITLE.

THE GIRLS PROGRAM WAS NAMED STATE CHAMPIONS IN 2022-24 AND STATE RUNNER-UP IN 2021-25.

AND OUR BOYS WERE NAMED STATE CHAMPIONS IN 2021 AND 22 AND ALSO STATE RUNNER-UP IN 2024.

ALTHOUGH THE SEASON ENDED IN HEARTBREAK FOR BOTH TEAMS, THESE KIDS REPRESENTED WAKELAND HIGH SCHOOL AND FRISCO ISD WITH A LOT OF GRIT, DETERMINATION, AND PRIDE.

RIGHT NOW I WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WAKELAND GIRLS SOCCER TEAM, YOUR 2006 5A DIVISION II STATE CHAMPIONS, AND I ALSO WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WAKELAND BOYS SOCCER TEAM FOR EARNING THE TITLE OF 5A DIVISION II STATE RUNNER-UP.

THE TEAMS WE ARE HONORING THIS EVENING EARNED A STATE MEDAL IN GOLF, AN ACCOMPLISHMENT THAT REFLECTS NOT ONLY ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE, BUT ALSO DISCIPLINE, COMPOSURE, AND PERSEVERANCE.

GOLF IS A SPORT THAT DEMANDS CONSISTENCY, INTEGRITY, AND MENTAL TOUGHNESS.

QUALITIES THESE STUDENT-ATHLETES DEMONSTRATED BOTH ON THE COURSE AND IN THE CLASSROOM.

WE HAVE PETE HAZARD, OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR OF FINE ARTS, IS AT THE PODIUM, AND HE WILL INTRODUCE SOME OUTSTANDING, LOOK LIKE ARTISTS RIGHT OFF THE BAT.

WELL, TONIGHT WE PROUDLY HONOR THE EXCELLENCE OF OUR HIGH SCHOOL VISUAL ARTS STAFF AND STUDENTS BY RECOGNIZING NINE FRISCO ISD STUDENTS SELECTED AS GOLD SEAL WINNERS AT THE STATE VISUAL ARTS SCHOLASTIC EVENT CONTEST.

THIS PRESTIGIOUS TITLE IS AWARDED THROUGH THE TEXAS ART EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION.

STUDENTS EARNING THIS HONOR PARTICIPATED IN A REGIONAL VASE EVENT ON FEBRUARY THE 28TH AND RECEIVED A 4 RATING AT THAT LEVEL.

THOSE WERE THEN SELECTED TO ADVANCE TO THE STATE VASE EVENT BY BEING IN THE TOP 10% AT THE REGIONAL LEVEL AND PARTICIPATED AT THE STATE VASE EVENT ON APRIL THE 24TH.

ONCE AT STATE, IN ORDER TO EARN A GOLD SEAL, STUDENTS MUST RECEIVE A RATING 05, DISTINGUISHED, AND ULTIMATELY REPRESENTED THE TOP 5 TO 7 PERCENT OF PIECES ENTERED INTO THE CONTEST, DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF PIECES THAT RECEIVE THE 5 RATING.

THESE STUDENTS TRIUMPHED THROUGH A RIGOROUS SELECTION PROCESS THAT BEGAN WITH OVER 32,400 ENTRIES STATEWIDE.

CULMINATING IN REGION AND STATE COMPETITIONS.

ONLY 2,100 PIECES ADVANCED TO THE STATE CONTEST, MAKING ABOUT 100 STATEWIDE PIECES THAT RECEIVED A GOLD SEAL EXTREMELY EXCLUSIVE.

FRISCO ISD RECEIVED NINE OF THOSE GOLD SEALS, AND IT'S A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR OUR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.

THEY REPRESENT 0.2% OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PIECES ENTERED STATEWIDE.

WE'RE GRATEFUL FOR THE EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATORS GUIDING THESE TALENTED STUDENTS.

THEIR DEDICATION AND SUPPORT ARE VITAL TO NURTURING AND GROWING THESE STUDENT ARTISTS.

THE ADVANCEMENT IN THIS CONTEST IS AWARDED THROUGH UIL THEATER AND FILM.

STUDENTS EARNING THIS HONOR PARTICIPATED IN THE INITIAL VIRTUAL EVALUATIVE PHASE OF THE CONTEST WHERE SELECT ENTRIES WERE IDENTIFIED AS STATE QUALIFIERS.

THESE STUDENTS EXCELLED THROUGH A RIGOROUS PROCESS THAT BEGAN IN JANUARY AND WILL CULMINATE AT THE STATE MEET ON MAY THE 15TH. THAT'S REALLY SOON.

ONLY 126 ENTRIES ADVANCED TO THE STATE CONTEST IN 4A AND 5A COMBINED.

FRISCO ISD RECEIVED 13 OF THOSE DESIGNATIONS FOR BEING A STATE QUALIFIER.

IT'S A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT AND I CAN TELL YOU HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT FOCUS OF OUR THEATER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT IN FRISCO OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS THROUGH OUR UIL MIDDLE SCHOOL THEATRICAL DESIGN CONTEST THAT CULMINATES IN THIS EXPERIENCE.

AND YOU CAN SEE...

THE WORK THAT OUR TEACHERS HAVE DONE COLLABORATIVELY TO GET TO THIS POINT AT THE STATE LEVEL IS JUST INCREDIBLE.

WE'RE GRATEFUL FOR THOSE EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATORS THAT GUIDE THESE TALENTED STUDENTS.

TONIGHT WE GET TO HONOR THE EXCELLENCE OF OUR HIGH SCHOOL THEATER ART STAFF AGAIN AND STUDENTS BY RECOGNIZING A FRISCO ISD HIGH SCHOOL THEATER PROGRAM THAT WAS SELECTED AS A STATE QUALIFIER AT THE UIL ONE-ACT PLAY CONTEST.

THE ADVANCEMENT IN THE ONE-ACT PLAY CONTEST IS AWARDED AGAIN THROUGH THE UIL THEATER AND FILM CATEGORY.

STUDENTS EARNING THIS HONOR PARTICIPATED IN ZONE, DISTRICT, BY DISTRICT, AREA, AND ULTIMATELY THE REGIONAL PHASE OF THE CONTEST WHERE SELECT THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS WERE IDENTIFIED AS STATE QUALIFIERS.

AND I HAVE TO TELL YOU, IN THE 11 YEARS THAT I'VE BEEN IN THIS FINE ARTS DIRECTOR ROLE, ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS IS ONE-ACT PLAY BECAUSE I NEVER GET IT RIGHT.

I NEVER CALL IT CORRECTLY ON WHAT THE RESULTS ARE GOING TO BE, BUT I CAN TELL YOU THIS YEAR I GOT IT RIGHT EVERY SINGLE ROUND.

THESE STUDENTS EXCELLED THROUGH A RIGOROUS SELECTION PROCESS.

IT ACTUALLY BEGAN IN MARCH AND WILL CULMINATE AT THE STATE MEET ON MAY THE 18TH, ALSO VERY SOON.

OUT OF THE 271 UIL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE 5A SCHOOLS, ONLY 8 OF THOSE SCHOOLS ADVANCED TO THE STATE CONTEST IN 5A,

AND CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL IS ONE OF THOSE.

THIS PRODUCTION IS FANTASTIC AND YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE IT TOMORROW IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THE NEW VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER.

WE'RE GOING TO START WITH OUR HIGH SCHOOL B.

MY NAME IS PATIENCE LEBLANC, AND I'M ONE OF THE SECONDARY SOCIAL STUDIES COORDINATORS HERE IN OUR DISTRICT.

AND THE CITIZEN B AND THE JUNIOR CITIZEN B ARE ACADEMIC COMPETITIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS.

IN BOTH CITIZEN B COMPETITIONS, STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A WRITTEN TEST, AN AFTER-SCHOOL VERBAL COMPETITION, AND A REGIONAL COMPETITION.

THE COMPETITION INCORPORATES THE 11TH GRADE AND 8TH GRADE STUDENTS.

STATE U.S.

HISTORY STANDARDS, INCLUDING TOPICS LIKE THE CONSTITUTION.

THESE FOLKS ARE EXPERTS AT THE CONSTITUTION.

DOCUMENTS, FOUNDING DOCUMENTS, PEOPLE, AND EVENTS.

THE COMPETITION IS SPONSORED BY THE STATE BAR OF TEXAS, LAW-RELATED EDUCATION, AND THE SUMNER'S FOUNDATION.

OUR HIGH SCHOOL B COMPETITION, THE STUDENTS AUTOMATICALLY ADVANCE TO REGION 10.

THIS YEAR WE HAD SEVERAL STUDENTS FROM FRISCO ISD HIGH SCHOOLS.

PARTICIPATING IN THE COMPETITION.

THE TOP WINNER OF THE REGION 10 COMPETITION WAS FROM FRISCO ISD.

FIRST PLACE WAS A STUDENT FROM LIBERTY HIGH SCHOOL.

HE WENT ON TO PLACE FIRST PLACE AT THE STATE COMPETITION AS A FRESHMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

HE RECEIVED $5,000, AND HE WAS SPONSORED BY HIS FATHER.

NOW, THE JUNIOR CITIZEN BEE COMPETITION, I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT ALL 18 FRISCO ISD'S MIDDLE SCHOOLS DO COMPETE IN THE JUNIOR BEE.

HERE, WE HAVE SPONSORS FROM EVERY CAMPUS, AND EVERY CAMPUS IN OUR JUNIOR BEE PARTICIPATES IN AN AFTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION.

THE FRISCO ISD TEACHERS SPONSOR BY HELPING ORGANIZE THE COMPETITIONS AT THEIR CAMPUS.

WE HAD A TOTAL OF 5,003 STUDENTS WHO TOOK THE SCHOOL.

CLASSROOM WRITTEN TESTS AT THEIR CAMPUS.

WE HAD 145 MORE STUDENTS THAN WE HAD LAST YEAR TAKE THAT TEST.

358 STUDENTS COMPETED IN THE AFTER-SCHOOL CAMPUS VERBAL COMPETITIONS AT THE CAMPUS LEVEL, 78 MORE STUDENTS THAN WE HAD THE YEAR BEFORE.

WE LIKE DATA IN THIS DISTRICT, BY THE WAY.

I GOT PLENTY OF IT.

THE TOP TWO FROM EACH SCHOOL AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL ADVANCES TO THE REGION 10 JUNIOR CITIZEN B COMPETITION AFTER THE FIRST ROUND FRISCO ISD SWEPT THE TOP 10 NOT ONLY DID WE HAVE TOP 10 BUT IT WAS SO CLOSE IN SCORE WE ACTUALLY TOOK THE TOP 11 SPOTS UH WE HAD A TIE FOR THAT THAT THAT UH LAST SPOT UM BUT THE OUT OF THE TOP TEN, THE TOP TWO WILL BE ADVANCING TO THE STATE B THAT ACTUALLY STARTS TOMORROW, SO THEY'VE GOT TO GO GET STUDYING.

SO THERE WILL BE THE WRITTEN TEST TOMORROW, AND THEY WILL TAKE THE VERBAL TEST THE DAY AFTER.

PRIOR TO ENTERING EDUCATION, I SPENT 20 YEARS SERVING IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY.

AND IT IS TRULY AN HONOR TO STAND BEFORE YOU TONIGHT RECOGNIZING THESE OUTSTANDING YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN THAT HAVE CHOSEN A PATH OF SERVICE TO OUR NATION.

I'D ALSO LIKE TO RECOGNIZE LEBANON TRAIL HIGH SCHOOL AND FRISCO ISD FOR THEIR CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT.

OUR NAVY JRTC PROGRAM AT LEBANON TRAIL WAS RECENTLY AWARDED ITS SECOND CONSECUTIVE DISTINGUISHED UNIT AWARD WITH ACADEMIC HONORS.

THIS IS A REFLECTION NOT ONLY OF OUR CADETS, BUT THE SUPPORT PROVIDED BY THIS DISTRICT, OUR ADMINISTRATION, OUR TEACHERS, AND OUR COMMUNITY.

TONIGHT WE'RE HERE TO HONOR GRADUATING STUDENTS FROM ACROSS FRISCO ISD WHO HAVE COMMITTED THEMSELVES TO MILITARY SERVICE, WHETHER THROUGH ENLISTMENT, ACCEPTANCE TO A SERVICE ACADEMY, OR EARNING ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS AT UNIVERSITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

THESE STUDENTS ARE CHOOSING A LIFE CENTERED ON DUTY, DISCIPLINE, SACRIFICE, AND LEADERSHIP.

AND IT'S THE REASON SO MANY GOOD PARENTS MOVE HERE, GOOD FAMILIES MOVE HERE, EDUCATORS WORK HERE.

THE CITY'S LUCKY TO HAVE A DISTRICT LIKE IT IN IT, AND IT CERTAINLY HAS BEEN A PRIVILEGE TO SERVE.

THE PUBLIC AS A WHOLE IN THIS DISTRICT OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS.

JUST A REMINDER, OUR FOUR MAIN PROGRAMS WE HAVE ARE BEST KNOWN FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND THEN OUR GRANTS, OUR ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT, AND OUR STEAM CAMP.

SCHOLARSHIPS THIS YEAR, THE CLASS OF 2026, WE ACTUALLY HAVE OUR CEREMONY ON THURSDAY, SO WE HAVE NOT AWARDED THESE SCHOLARSHIPS YET.

BUT AS OF RIGHT NOW, THE NUMBERS ARE 752,295 IN SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED.

THAT'S 953 SCHOLARSHIPS TO 813 STUDENTS IMPACTED THIS YEAR.

SO SINCE 1999, OUR FIRST YEAR WAS 1999-2000, SO THE CLASS OF 2000 GOT THE FIRST SCHOLARSHIPS.

THAT IS A TOTAL OF $12 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED SINCE OUR FOUNDING.

15,000 SCHOLARSHIPS AND OVER 12,000 STUDENTS IMPACTED.

SO YOU CAN SEE SOME OF OUR PICTURES FROM LAST YEAR.

OUR GRANTS, WE AWARDED THESE IN NOVEMBER.

THIS IS THE PROGRAM WE CALL GRANTS FOR GREAT IDEAS.

JUST THIS YEAR, WE AWARDED OUR HIGHEST YET AT 92,129 TO 60 DIFFERENT TEACHERS.

THE OTHER THING THAT WE KIND OF FORGET ABOUT BECAUSE WE START THE SCHOOL YEAR AND THEN WE JUST START RUNNING, BUT AT THE NEW TEACHER BREAKFAST, WE AWARDED 138 TEACHERS WITH SUPPLY GRANTS AT $100 EACH.

SO THAT'S A TOTAL OF $105,000 IN IMPACT THIS YEAR FROM GRANTS.

BUT SINCE 1999, I ALWAYS WANT TO KEEP OUR RUNNING TOTAL.

WE ARE OVER $1 MILLION IN OUR TEACHER AND STAFF GRANTS.

IT'S NOT JUST TEACHERS, BUT SOME OF OUR STAFF MEMBERS.

AND THEN 973 NEW TEACHER GRANTS AWARDED.

DIFFERENT AMOUNTS.

SOME YEARS WE DID 200, SOME YEARS WE DID 100, BUT TOTAL IMPACT IS $1.4 MILLION.

SO PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT THAT FOR OUR STAFF.

FOR SOME REASON AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR WE START THE SUMMER WITH THE WHOLE STEAM CAMP AND WE HAVE ALL THE MIDDLE SCHOOLERS COME.

SO I GUESS WHEN WE'RE ALL TIRED AND THE KIDS ARE TIRED WE'RE STILL AT IT.

AND THIS IS A REALLY FUN WEEK.

IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN, I REALLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO CHECK IT OUT THIS YEAR.

IT'S OUR MINDBENDER STEAM CAMP.

AND WE'VE ADDED SOME DIFFERENT THINGS TO IT.

WE'RE STARTING TO NOTICE THAT PARENTS REALLY WANT TO SEE WHAT THEIR CHILD IS DOING WHILE THEY'RE THERE.

SO OUR TRADITIONAL MIND VENDORS SIGN UP AND COME AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS, THAT'S NOT WORKING AS WELL.

AND SO WE'VE REALLY IDENTIFIED SOME NEW PATHS.

AND SO LAST YEAR WE ADDED HEALTH SCIENCE CAMP AND THAT SOLD OUT.

AND SO THEY TRAVELED TO DIFFERENT HOSPITALS IN OUR CITY AND GET TO SEE, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THEM UP THERE IN THE TOP RIGHT IN THEIR SCRUBS.

I THINK THAT'S AT TEXAS HEALTH FRISCO, RIGHT PETER? I THINK THAT'S TEXAS HEALTH FRISCO.

THAT'S HOW THEY WELCOMED THEM AND THAT'S HOW THEY HUNG OUT IN THEIR SESSION.

THEY'RE DOING SOME REALLY COOL STUFF.

WE JUST ADDED A NEW ROBOTICS CAMP THIS YEAR, AND THAT'S ALREADY ON THE MOVE TO SELLING OUT PRETTY QUICK.

AND THEN OUR ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAMP, THAT'S ACTUALLY FOR INCOMING FOURTH THROUGH SIXTH GRADERS, AND THAT ONE SELLS OUT FIRST EVERY YEAR.

SO THEY'RE REALLY ON TO SOMETHING.

WE STILL HAVE A FEW SPOTS OPEN FOR MINDVENDOR, JUST THAT TRADITIONAL PATH, BUT WE'RE GOING TO GET SOME MORE KIDS FOR THAT.

THEY ALL FIVE HAVE THE INCUBATOR PROGRAM.

SO TO DATE, WE'VE AWARDED 28,000 TO 19 STUDENT BUSINESSES.

WE JUST GOT STARTED IN 2018 FOR THAT, AND I THINK WE SKIPPED A YEAR IN THERE, PROBABLY COVID.

FIRST PLACE NATURE'S NOTE FROM EMERSON, THEY DESIGNED THIS PERCENT AND IT HAS TO DO WITH YOUR PH LEVELS THEY'RE A LOT SMARTER THAN ME SO CHECK THAT OUT IT'S PRETTY AMAZING UM THE GUYS REALLY WERE ON TO SOMETHING WITH THAT AND THEY GOT 1500.

SECOND PLACE IF YOU NEED YOUR GARAGE REORGANIZED THEY HAVE THIS ONE OF THE STUDENTS DESIGNED A COMPLETE AI SYSTEM WHERE THEY GO IN AND THEY ACTUALLY USE A LOT OF AI WITH IT, AND IT'S REALLY COOL.

SO THIS GROUP OF LADIES HAS, DO YOU ALL REMEMBER WAY BACK AT THE VERY FIRST BOARD MEETING WHEN YOU GUYS WERE LIKE, HANG ON A SECOND, ARE YOU SURE THAT 03,000 BOOKS IS RIGHT? THESE GUYS REALLY PUT IN THE WORK.

WE DID WANT TO SPECIFICALLY MAKE SURE THAT OUR KIDDOS HAD ACCESS TO FRISCO ISD RESOURCES IF THEY DID NOT HAVE A FRISCO ISD ADDRESS, IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE TO YOU ALL.

SO SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF THESE DEPARTMENTS, COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT ALWAYS STELLAR.

YOU MAY RECALL THAT INTRUDER DETECTION AUDITS BEGAN IN AUGUST OF 2022 FOLLOWING A DIRECTIVE BY GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT, AND THEY HAVE A SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF ASSESSING THE ABILITY OF INTRUDERS, OR IN THIS CASE A STATE INSPECTOR, TO GAIN ENTRY TO SCHOOLS THROUGH EXTERIOR ENTRY POINTS.

EACH FISD CAMPUS IS VISITED ANNUALLY FOR AN UNANNOUNCED VISIT.

AS OF TODAY, THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY HAS COMPLETED 73 OF 76 FISD CAMPUSES, ROUGHLY 95%.

IT'S LIKELY OUR MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY WOULD BE INTERESTED TO KNOW THE SPECIFIC DETAILS OF THE AUDIT PROCEDURES AND ANY FINDINGS.

HOWEVER, STATE LAW PROHIBITS THIS PRACTICE AS IT COULD COMPROMISE CAMPUS SAFETY AND SECURITY.

BUT, AS REQUIRED BY THE STATE, SPECIFIC DETAILS OF THE INTRUDER DETECTION AUDITS WERE DISCUSSED WITH THE BOARD IN THE EXECUTIVE SESSION EARLIER THIS EVENING.

TODAY WE'LL JUST BE TALKING ABOUT SOME OF THE OVERALL DATA.

HOWEVER, SITES DID RECEIVE

THIS IS THE MOST ROBUST WAY OF COLLECTING DATA, ENSURING THAT ALL THE DATA PRESENT CAN BE UTILIZED USING DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS RATHER THAN ANYTHING WITH ANY STATISTICAL INFERENCE.

SINCE WE ARE NOT INFERRING TO ANY LARGER POPULATION FROM THE CENSUS ITSELF.

SO WE CAN SEE HERE PARTICIPATION WAS FAIRLY SIMILAR TO WHAT WE'VE SEEN IN PAST YEARS.

WE DID HAVE AN INCREASE OF ABOUT 10 PERCENT FROM ELEMENTARY STUDENTS, VERY SIMILAR PARTICIPATION FROM SECONDARY STUDENTS, SLIGHTLY HIGHER FROM PARENTS AND GUARDIANS, AND THEN SLIGHTLY LOWER FROM STAFF MEMBERS.

A COUPLE OF KEY INSIGHTS THAT I WANTED TO MAKE SURE WE'RE SHARING.

FIRST OF ALL, FRISCO ISD HAS A TREMENDOUSLY FAVORABLE OUTLOOK OVERALL.

PERSPECTIVES ARE VERY HIGH AS FAR AS FAVORABILITY ACROSS THE DIMENSIONS.

AND SO YEAR OVER YEAR, WE'RE GOING TO START SEEING A BIT OF A CEILING EFFECT TAKE PLACE WHERE THE AMOUNT OF GROWTH THAT YOU CAN SEE OVER TIME IS GOING TO JUST SMALLER BECAUSE THERE'S LESS GROWTH TO BE HAD BEFORE YOU REACH 100% FAVORABILITY.

AND SO FOR THAT, I WANTED TO POINT OUT SOME OF THE LARGER AREAS OF GROWTH THAT WE SAW THIS YEAR.

HOWEVER, AGAIN, KEEP IN MIND, WE ARE GETTING TO A CEILING EFFECT STRICTLY BECAUSE THE DATA HAS BEEN SO FAVORABLE AMONG THESE PARTICIPANTS FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW.

SO FIRST, WE SAW THAT SECONDARY STUDENTS SAID TEACHERS SUCCESSFULLY SHOW THEM HOW LESSONS RELATE TO LIFE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL.

THIS IS A 4% INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR.

HOWEVER, THIS IS AN ITEM THAT ACROSS THE BOARD NATIONWIDE, THIS IS ALWAYS ONE OF THE LOWEST RANKING INDICATORS AMONG SECONDARY STUDENTS.

AND SO TO SEE ANY LEVEL OF IMPROVEMENT OR GROWTH IS FAIRLY UNHEARD OF, VERY UNIQUE TO FRISCO ISD, AND A DEFINITE POINT OF CELEBRATION.

NEXT, I WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT, AGAIN, AMONG SECONDARY STUDENTS, 53% SAY THEY LOOK FORWARD TO SCHOOL EACH DAY.

THIS IS, AS WELL, A 5% INCREASE.

AND WE'LL TALK ABOUT THIS IN A MINUTE, BUT THE STAGE OF PSYCHOSOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN WHICH SECONDARY STUDENTS FIND THEMSELVES IS ONE WHERE SHARING ANY POSITIVE ASPECT ABOUT HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT SCHOOL GOES AGAINST.

THEM BUILDING THEIR OWN IDENTITY AND KIND OF PUSHING AWAY FROM AUTHORITY.

AND SO TO SEE ANY GROWTH AT ALL IN THAT ITEM IS A MAJOR POINT OF CELEBRATION.

SO AGAIN, THAT 5% INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR IS SOMETHING TO DEFINITELY BE PROUD OF.

NEXT, WE SAW THAT 70% SAID THAT STUDENTS TREAT STAFF MEMBERS WITH RESPECT, AND 64% SAID STUDENTS TREAT ONE ANOTHER WITH RESPECT.
