>> GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE. IT IS 5:30,

[1. Communication to and from the Board including public comments]

[00:00:02]

AND I CALL TO ORDER A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF FRISCO ISD.

WE DO HAVE QUORUM WITH ALL MEMBERS PRESENT.

BEFORE I MOVE TO OUR FIRST AGENDA ITEM, WE WANTED TO CELEBRATE ONE OF OUR VERY OWN, WHO WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE SO MUCH. MS. GILLESPIE.

>> SORRY. TODAY IS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS' DAY.

THE BOARD WANTED TO GET TOGETHER AND SHARE A LITTLE SOMETHING WITH YOU BECAUSE WE APPRECIATE ALL THE THINGS YOU DO FOR US, TAKING CARE OF ALL OF OUR ARRANGEMENTS, MAKING SURE WE'RE ALWAYS FED AND WHERE WE NEED TO BE.

THANK YOU, AND HAPPY MICHELLE DAY.

[APPLAUSE]

>> ALSO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DEBBIE GILLESPIE.

TODAY'S HER BIRTHDAY.

[APPLAUSE] SHE DECIDED TO COME AND CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY WITH ALL OF YOU, SO THAT MEANS A LOT.

>> THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING HERE TO SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

>> FOR HER BIRTHDAY PARTY. MICHELLE, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR US.

I'M TELLING YOU, I DON'T KNOW WHERE OUR HEADS WOULD BE, IF IT WEREN'T FOR YOU.

THANK YOU. WE'RE A CREW TO KEEP UP WITH, I TELL YOU.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

>> [INAUDIBLE]

>> IS THAT ONLY BECAUSE YOU'RE BEING RECORDED? [LAUGHTER] THANK YOU SO MUCH.

WE'LL MOVE TO OUR FIRST AND ONLY ITEM ON OUR COMMUNITY INPUT NIGHT AGENDA.

THAT IS COMMUNICATIONS TO AND FROM THE BOARD, INCLUDING PUBLIC COMMENT.

SECRETARY, ARE YOU READING ANY COMMUNICATIONS? WE'LL MOVE TO PUBLIC COMMENT.

OUR FIRST SPEAKER IS STEPHANIE BLACKBURN.

EVERYONE HERE TONIGHT, THANK YOU ALL FOR JOINING US.

YOU'VE TWO MINUTES TO ADDRESS THE BOARD.

STAFF WILL ANSWER QUESTIONS, IF THEY CAN, AS WELL IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING SPECIFIC.

>> [INAUDIBLE].

>> PLEASE DO. STEPHANIE, WE AS A BOARD ALL HAD VERY SIMILAR QUESTIONS.

WE HAD A WORKSHOP LAST WEEK ABOUT THIS EXACT THING.

WE'RE LEARNING AS WELL ABOUT THIS NEW SYSTEM.

DR. CUNNINGHAM AND HIS TEAM PRESENTED A LOT OF REALLY GREAT INFORMATION TO US.

I KNOW THAT THAT RECORDING OF THAT WORKSHOP IS AVAILABLE FOR PARENTS AS WELL.

I CAN SEND YOU THE LINK TOMORROW TO THAT. DR. CUNNINGHAM.

>> YOU TOOK THE WORDS OUT MY MOUTH. THAT'S OKAY.

WE DID A BOARD WORKSHOP LAST WEEK, AND THE VIDEO IS THERE.

I'M HAPPY TO SEND YOU A DIRECT LINK TO THAT.

IT GIVES YOU A BIT MORE CONTEXT AND ANSWER SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS.

IF YOU EMAIL US, WE'LL BE HAPPY TO SEE IF WE CAN DO A LITTLE BETTER JOB OF ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS.

I WILL SAY THAT THIS IS ALSO PART OF OUR STRATEGIC CHANGE PROCESS THAT WE'VE TALKED ABOUT AT THE LAST COUPLE OF BOARD MEETINGS.

WE CAN SHARE THAT INFORMATION WITH YOU ABOUT WHAT OUR PURPOSE WAS, WHY WE'RE GETTING THERE, AND WHERE WE'RE GOING NEXT.

YOU ASK SOME GREAT QUESTIONS, AND I APPRECIATE THAT.

[00:05:01]

>> THANK YOU. DO YOU ALL HEAR THE FEEDBACK?

>> YEAH.

>> SORRY ABOUT THAT.

>> [INAUDIBLE].

>> SORRY. [LAUGHTER]

>> [INAUDIBLE]

>> IS THERE A MIC ON THE PODIUM AS WELL, A HANDHELD? THAT MAYBE WHAT IT IS.

>> [INAUDIBLE] HANDHELD MIC. [BACKGROUND]

>> SORRY, GUYS. LET'S MOVE TO OUR NEXT SPEAKER.

IS THAT BETTER? HOLD ON.

>> SET MIC.

>> [INAUDIBLE]

>> IT SOUNDS BETTER.

>> IT SOUNDS BETTER.

>> DOES THAT SOUND BETTER?

>> YEAH, THAT DOES.

>> IT SOUNDS A LOT BETTER.

>> OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS MONA CHOWHAN, FOLLOWED BY ANDY GONZALES.

>> GOOD EVENING, BOARD MEMBERS.

MY NAME IS MONA CHOWHAN.

I HAVE BEEN A VOLUNTEER SCIENCE TEACHER IN THE PAST, AND PAST SUBSTITUTE TEACHER AND A CURRENT QUALIFIED [INAUDIBLE] AT FRISCO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CREATING THIS OPPORTUNITY FOR SPEAKING AS A COMMUNITY MEMBER.

MY QUESTION IS AWAY FROM EDUCATION OR DIGITAL TOOLS OR INTERNET.

IT'S ABOUT FOOD.

WE HAD FREE LUNCHES SO FAR FOR TWO YEARS WHEN COVID HIT, AND IT WAS PHENOMENAL. I LOVED IT.

AS A PARENT, I HAVE A CHILD WHO GOES TO ELEMENTARY AND HAD FREE FOOD.

I DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PACKING LUNCH.

MY QUESTION IS, IS THERE A WAY WE CAN CONTINUE THIS THROUGHOUT AS A PUBLIC SCHOOL? SOME AFFILIATION WITH AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT TO GET FREE FOOD FOR ALL, IRRESPECTIVE OF LOW-INCOME OR WHATEVER INCOME CATEGORY THE CHILD BELONGS TO.

I'M SURE, WE'RE NOT HAVING THE STRATEGIES IN PLACE.

POSSIBLY, FOR NOW.

IF THERE IS ANY, PLEASE KINDLY SHARE OUT, IF THERE'S SOMETHING THAT WE CAN DO.

MAYBE A CRITICAL FEEDBACK HERE THAT, IF WE COULD CONTINUE DOING THAT, IT WOULD BE AWESOME.

I KNOW WE CAN PUT THE CARD AND PUT MONEY, AND SAY, "HEY, YOU CAN EAT IN THE SCHOOL." BUT I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT.

MAYBE IF WE CAN HAVE SOME THING STRATEGICALLY IN PLACE, WHERE EVERYONE GETS A FREE MEAL CONTINUING AFTER COVID.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPPORTUNITY.

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS ANDY GONZALES. KIMBERLY, GO AHEAD.

>> I WAS JUST GOING TO SAY THE FREE MEALS HAVE BEEN THE RESULT OF SOME FEDERAL LEGISLATION, THROUGH SOME FEDERAL GRANTS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE EXTENDED.

THAT'S HOW WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT.

WE'RE AT THE MERCY OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO BE ABLE TO ALLOW FREE LUNCH FOR ALL VERSUS ONLY CHILDREN WHO QUALIFY FOR FREE OR REDUCED LUNCH.

>> KIMBERLY, I'LL ADD TO THAT. BECAUSE IT DID COME FROM GRANTS THAT CAME THROUGH COVID, A LOT OF THAT CAME THROUGH ESSER FUNDS.

THERE IS SOME LEGISLATION THAT IS BEING DISCUSSED RIGHT NOW TO EXTEND THAT ON THE NATIONAL LEVEL.

IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP AND BEING DISCUSSED ON A HIGHER-LEVEL.

>> [INAUDIBLE]

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. ANDY.

>> YES, MY NAME IS ANDY GONZALES AND ACTUALLY, I WAS GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT THE ESA FUNDS AND I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT FUNDING GO TOWARDS HELPING PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD, AND DEFINITELY NOT SEEING THAT MONEY BE DISTRIBUTED INTO OUR EXPLICIT BOOKS THAT WE'VE FOUND BECAUSE THAT SEEMS TO BE TIED TO ALL THE CONTRACTS.

WHEN YOU ACCEPT THIS ESA MONEY, ALL THESE FUNDS, THEN THERE ARE CONTRACTS WHICH ARE WHAT YOU HAVE TALKED ABOUT IN YOUR LAST MEETING, WHICH ARE THE STRATEGIC INITIATIVE, GETTING A LOT OF FEEDBACK HERE.

THOSE INITIATIVES ARE MORE OF YOUR ANTI-RACISM CAMPAIGNS OR COME UNDER THE DIVERSITY? THAT IS DONE. WHAT IS THE DIVERSITY ON CAMPUS OR SOMETHING?

>> DIVERSIFY.

>> DIVERSIFY OR WHATEVER. BUT YOU REALLY CAN'T FIGHT RACISM WITH ANTI-RACISM OR WHATEVER.

IT JUST NEEDS TO BECOME LIKE AN AMERICAN.

WE ARE HERE IN AMERICA.

[00:10:02]

WE ARE HUMAN. WE DON'T NEED TO BE TEACHING KIDS ABOUT RACIST IDEOLOGY, BUT THAT'S REALLY ANOTHER POINT I HAD.

IT'S THIS SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONTENT THAT CONTINUES TO GET REMOVED AND THEN REENTERED INTO OUR SCHOOLS.

IT'S PROHIBITED THAT YOU DISTRIBUTE ANY KIND OF EXPLICIT CONTENT LIKE THAT TO A MINOR.

THE FACT THAT IT CONTINUES TO GO ON IN OUR SCHOOLS AND IN OUR LIBRARIES, IS JUST REPREHENSIBLE TO ME BECAUSE, AGAIN, IF IT'S DONE IN SOMEONE'S PRIVATE CAPACITY AND EVERYBODY WANTS TO SCREAM, "CENSORSHIP." NO, IF YOU CAN'T HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH DOES NOT PROTECT OBSCENITY JUST LIKE IT DOESN'T PROTECT SCREAMING "FIRE" IN A CROWDED ROOM, IN A THEATER.

YOU CAN'T PROTECT OBSCENITY AND THERE SHOULDN'T BE AN OBSCENITY EXEMPTION.

IN THE LAST WEEK, YOU HEARD THAT THEY WERE SAYING THERE'S NO SUCH THING.

NO, IT'S IN LEGISLATION [OVERLAPPING] WHERE YOU GOT TO REMOVE ALL THESE BOOKS.

>> THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS ALLISON DARRELL, FOLLOWED BY KEVIN WET.

[BACKGROUND]

>> GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS ALLISON DARRELL.

MY SON IS A WAKELAND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT.

ON APRIL 20TH, THE BOARD APPROVED $387,000 TO HIRE SEVERAL EMPLOYEES TO WEED OUR LIBRARIES PRESUMABLY OF PORNOGRAPHY? THE DIRECTOR SAID THAT THE WEEDING WOULD NOT REALISTICALLY BEGIN UNTIL FALL 2022.

IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT YET ANOTHER SIX MONTHS PASS BEFORE FRISCO ISD ACHIEVES A COMPREHENSIVE PURGE OF PORNOGRAPHIC BOOKS.

I PROPOSED THAT THE BOARD USE SOME OF THAT MONEY, DIARY SWAT TEAM RIGHT NOW, TO PURGE THE LIBRARIES OF ALL PORNOGRAPHIC BOOKS.

SECOND, FRISCO ISD MUST REFRAIN FROM INFLUENCING OUR MINORS, CHILDREN'S SEXUALITY IN ANY FORM OR FASHION WHATSOEVER.

FISD EMPLOYEES, NANCY JOE LAMBERT AS THE LIBRARIAN AT READY HIGH SCHOOL.

ACCORDING TO HER BIO, SHE IS PASSIONATE ABOUT INCREASING LGBTQ PLUS VISIBILITY AMONG EDUCATORS.

SHE WILL BE WORKING TO RAISE AWARENESS AND FACILITATE DISCUSSIONS OF LGBTQ PLUS TERMINOLOGY IN LIBRARIES AND COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT.

MS. LAMBERT STATED INTENT IS TO BE AN LGBTQ ACTIVIST THROUGH HER FISD LIBRARIAN POSITION.

SOCIAL AND SEXUAL ACTIVISTS LIKE MS. LAMBERT MUST NOT BE EMPLOYED BY FISD.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. [APPLAUSE]

>> THANK YOU. I'D LIKE TO JUST, IF WE COULD CIRCLE BACK, THIS IS INFORMATION THAT WE RECEIVED DURING OUR PUBLIC MEETING LAST WEEK REGARDING OUR RECONSIDERATION DATA FOR LIBRARY BOOKS AND I'D LIKE TO JUST, IF I COULD JUST READ A COUPLE OF THINGS.

I'M NOT SURE, ALYSON, IF YOU WERE AT THAT MEETING, BUT JUST FOR THOSE WATCHING.

JUST FOR THIS YEAR ALONE, OUR TOTAL RECONSIDERATION FOR OUR BOOKS, WE'VE HAD EIGHT, TOTAL RECONSIDERATION, 16 IN FORMAL INQUIRIES, WE'VE HAD TWO TITLES REMOVED FROM OUR LIBRARIES, WE HAVE HAD FIVE INTERNAL RECONSIDERATION, AND AS FAR AS THOSE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WHO INITIATED THESE CHALLENGES, WE'VE HAD 25, 15 PARENTS, FIVE FISD STAFF, AND THEN FIVE GENERAL INQUIRY.

I JUST WANT TO MAKE THAT CLEAR.

WE WERE GIVEN INFORMATION LAST MONTH OR LAST WEEK RATHER THAN STARTING AND WE'VE BEEN DOING THESE RECONSIDERATION.

WE'VE HAD THESE POLICIES IN PLACE FOR MANY YEARS AND FOR THE 24 YEARS PRIOR TO THE SCHOOL YEAR 2022, WE HAD ONE FORMAL RECONSIDERATION.

WE'VE HAD FIVE FORMAL RECONSIDERATION THIS YEAR. OUR POLICIES WORK.

WE ARE ALWAYS IN CONSTANT REVIEW OF NOT ONLY THIS POLICY, BUT POLICIES THAT AFFECT THIS DISTRICT ACROSS ALL MYRIAD OF FUNCTIONAL AREAS WITHIN THIS DISTRICT.

IT IS SOMETHING THAT IS IMPORTANT AS WE CERTAINLY DO NOT WANT EXPLICIT MATERIAL IN FRONT OF OUR KIDS.

THAT'S WHY WE APPROVED OF THOSE HIRES SO THAT WE CAN START UTILIZING ADDITIONAL STAFF MEMBERS TO HELP WITH THIS PROCESS.

THE WEEDING THAT HAPPENS, AND WE'RE NOT WAITING UNTIL THIS SUMMER.

OUR LIBRARIANS ARE CONSTANTLY WEEDING OUT BOOKS LONG BEFORE THE SCHOOL YEAR.

IT'S SOMETHING THAT IS PART OF THEIR WORK THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRETY OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR AS BOOKS COME INTO OUR LIBRARY, AND THESE BOOKS ARE BEING REVIEWED.

JUST KNOW THAT WE UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERNS, THE CONCERNS OF THIS BOARD AND OF THE STAFF MEMBERS IN THIS DISTRICT AS WELL.

OUR LIBRARIANS ARE DOING THAT WORK AND THEY'RE NOT JUST BEGINNING THAT THIS SUMMER, JUST TO PUT YOUR MIND AT EASE.

WE'RE COMMITTED TO DOING THAT AS WELL.

[00:15:02]

MELISSA, DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD?

>> I THINK THAT PRETTY MUCH SPEAKS TO EVERYTHING.

I CAN GIVE YOU A QUICK UPDATE.

LAST NIGHT WE WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS WITH DISTRICT ADVISORY COUNCIL SPECIFICALLY ON THE UPDATES THAT WE WANT TO DO TO OUR COLLECTION GUIDELINES FOR NEXT YEAR.

WE GOT SOME GREAT FEEDBACK FROM PARENTS WHO ARE LIKE IN IT TO WIN IT.

I THINK WE'RE GOING TO REALLY LIKE THAT.

WE'LL BRING ALL OF THAT TO YOU.

THEY HAD SOME REALLY GREAT IDEAS IN ADDITION TO SOME THAT YOU THREW OUT, RENEE.

WE'LL BE PROVIDING ALL OF THAT FEEDBACK FROM THEM ALONG WITH OUR SUGGESTED UPDATES TO THE COLLECTION GUIDELINES.

I GUESS I WOULD ALSO SAY THAT NONE OF US BELIEVE THAT THERE SHOULD BE AN OBSCENITY EXCLUSION. IS THAT WHAT IT WAS?

>> OBSCENITY EXEMPTION. [INAUDIBLE]

>> WE DO NOT WANT THERE TO BE ANY LOOPHOLE OF OBSCENITY EXEMPTION EITHER.

THAT'S PART OF WHY WE'RE WORKING SO HARD ON THESE COLLECTION GUIDELINES.

THE SEVEN BOOKS THAT HAVE BEEN REVIEWED, WE HAVE A COMMITTEE OF LIBRARIANS WHO HAVE FEVERISHLY GONE BACK OVER THE COLLECTION AND LOOKED AT THOSE BOOKS THAT HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE EITHER FORMAL OR INFORMAL PROCESS SHEET THIS YEAR TO DECIDE WHAT IS IT IN THE GUIDELINES THAT MIGHT HAVE FAILED HERE, AND EVEN THOUGH THESE FIT THE GUIDELINES, THEY MADE IT THROUGH.

THAT WAS THE METHOD THAT THEY USED TO GO ABOUT KNOWING WHAT WE NEEDED FOR POSSIBLE UPDATES TO NEXT YEAR'S GUIDELINES.

>> [INAUDIBLE]

>> EXCUSE ME.

>> [INAUDIBLE]

>> THE COLLECTION GUIDELINES.

>> FOLKS, IF YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS, JUST EMAIL US AND WE'II ANSWER

>> JUST REMEMBER THEY'RE POSTED ONLINE AND THERE ARE NO INCLUSIVENESS OBSCENITY EXEMPTIONS IN OUR COLLECTION GUIDELINES.

I GUESS THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THAT.

WE'RE GOING TO BRING THE UPDATES TO YOU GUYS THOUGH I KNOW YOU ALL ARE REALLY INTERESTED TO SEE THEIR FEEDBACK AND THEN TO GIVE MORE OF YOUR OWN.

>> BECAUSE YOU MENTIONED THE COMMITTEE.

I DON'T KNOW IF WE HAVE ANY COMMITTEE MEMBERS HERE, BUT I KNOW THAT THE MEMBERS OF THAT COMMITTEE, I'VE HEARD FROM A FEW OF THEM FROM THEIR MEETING LAST NIGHT AND IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS VERY PRODUCTIVE WORK AND THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF REALLY GREAT DEBATE, AND THESE ARE PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY, STAFF MEMBERS, TEACHERS.

IT'S ALL CONSTITUENCY GROUPS ACROSS THE PEOPLE THAT ARE HELPING GUIDE US AND OUR VISION AND DIRECTION FOR THIS DISTRICT, AND SO IT'S IMPORTANT FOR THE BOARD FOR THOSE COMMITTEES TO DO THEIR WORK BECAUSE WE COUNT ON ALL OF THOSE CONSTITUENCY GROUPS TO HELP US AS WE'RE MAKING THESE DECISIONS.

IF THERE'S ANYONE IN THE ROOM THAT WAS PART OF THAT COMMITTEE WORK LAST NIGHT OR ANYONE THAT WE'LL SEE THIS AS WE POSTED TOMORROW ON OUR WEBSITE, I JUST WANT TO SAY FROM THE BOARD, WE APPRECIATE THAT WORKERS TWO HOURS AWAY FROM YOUR FAMILY ON A WEDNESDAY NIGHT OR TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, I DON'T KNOW WHAT DAY IT IS.

BUT TWO HOURS AWAY FROM YOUR FAMILY ON ANY NIGHT IS A BIG DEAL AND SO IT'S APPRECIATED.

>> THEY WORKED REALLY HARD TO THIS,.

>> WE PUT THEM THROUGH THE WRINGER FAMILIAS.

>> TODAY IS WEDNESDAY, SO TUESDAY NIGHT. GREAT. THANK YOU.

>> OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS KEVIN WIDTH.

>> NO, MA'AM. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS.

>> IF YOU CAN JUST SUBMIT THEM THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

WE APPRECIATE THAT FEEDBACK.

KEVIN WIDTH FOLLOWED BY OUR FINAL SPEAKER, MAYOR GEORGE FULLER.

>> HELLO. IT'S BEEN QUITE A FEW MONTHS SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE.

SINCE YOU ALL KICKED ME OUT FOR QUESTIONING YOU ON WHY YOU EVER HIRED NANCY JOE LAMBERT.

THIS LADY IS A INDOCTRINATE, A GROOMER AND SHE SHOULD NOT BE BEFORE CHILDREN TRYING TO TEACH THEM ANYTHING.

NOW, MY NAME IS KEVIN WIDTH.

I UNDERSTAND I'M A CONTROVERSIAL PERSON.

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY I'M CONTROVERSIAL? BECAUSE I'M A FORMER TRANSSEXUAL.

I WAS A TRANSSEXUAL FOR 20 YEARS.

I KNOW THE LGBT LIFESTYLE, I KNOW EQUITY AND WHERE IT LEADS TO.

NOW IF I STAND HERE TODAY AND I SAY, I IDENTIFY AS A 55-YEAR-OLD BLACK MAN.

[00:20:01]

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO SAY? WELL, THAT'S ABSURD.

ISN'T IT ABSURD WHEN A FIVE-YEAR-OLD CHILD SAYS THAT THEY IDENTIFY AS A FEMALE AND THEY'RE BORN MALE.

THAT'S ABSURD.

THIS EQUITY SITUATION, THIS WORD GOD LIKE TO THROW AROUND AND USE, THERE'S NO EQUITY HERE.

THEY'VE STOLEN THIS WORD FROM THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT THAT WAS STOLEN FROM THE BLACK COMMUNITY.

LGBT IS KNOWN AS CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT.

IT'S ON A CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE.

THE FACT THAT JACK CAN STAND HERE AND SIT UP HERE.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO ORDERED THESE BOOKS, THE BOOKS THAT ARE IN THE LIBRARY, THESE PERVERTED PORNO BOOKS FIRST OF ALL, YOU CAN READ THE LANGUAGE IT'S TALKING ABOUT.

>> THANK YOU. I CAN ANSWER YOUR QUESTION AS TO WHO ORDERS OUR BOOKS? YOU CAN

>> NO YOU CAN HAVE A SEAT.

YOU CAN HAVE A SEAT. THANK YOU.

>> I CAN TELL YOU THE MEMBERS OF THIS COMMUNITY OF FASD, SAP MEMBERS THAT ORDER OUR BOOKS ARE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS IN THEIR FIELD.

THEY ARE EDUCATED, THEY ARE DEGREED, AND WE TRUST THEM TO ORDER THE BOOKS FOR OUR LIBRARIES.

DISPARAGING A STAFF MEMBERS NAME AND SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE IS SOMETHING THAT HAS I THINK BECOME A BIT OF POLITICAL FODDER OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS IT IS AND IT'S NOT APPROPRIATE.

>> [BACKGROUND].

>> THANK YOU. IT'S NOT APPROPRIATE.

MAYOR FULLER, PLEASE.

IT IS WHEN YOU MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF A STAFF MEMBER WHO HAS GIVEN THEIR LIFE TO EDUCATING, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

>> SOMEBODY LEFT GLASSES UP HERE. SOMEBODY'S PAIR?

>> [NOISE] YES. THANK YOU. MAYOR FULLER

>> I'M GOING TO COME A BIT OF A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE ON MAYOR CITY OF MCKINNEY AS YOU KNOW, WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS, RESIDENTS AND MCKINNEY THAT ATTEND SCHOOL IN FRISCO.

IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS ENTIRE BOARD, FRISCO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, MCKINNEY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND ALL OF US WANT THE SAME THING.

WE WANT THE BEST FOR OUR CHILDREN.

YOU'VE EXEMPLIFIED THAT AND EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE.

WE ARE THE CITIES THAT WE ARE RESPECTED AS WE ARE A FASTEST GROWING, AS WE ARE BUSINESS SLOPE COMING TO LOCATE WHERE WE ARE.

IN GREAT PART, IF NOT MOST PART, DUE TO THE INCREDIBLE SCHOOL DISTRICTS THAT OUR TWO CITIES HAVE.

WHAT I WOULD TELL YOU IS JUST OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS, I'VE HAD OVER 500 RESIDENTS OF MCKINNEY RESPOND, WANTING ME TO MAKE SURE THAT I DELIVERED THE MESSAGE THAT ALTHOUGH YOU MAY NOT HEAR WITH A LOT OF NOISE THESE DAYS, THAT YOU ARE EXTREMELY RESPECTED.

WE VALUE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, WE KNOW THAT YOU HAVE OUR YOUTH IN YOUR BEST INTEREST.

YOUR PRIORITY IS THEIR ABSOLUTE BEST EDUCATION.

THE WORD GROOMING HAS BEEN USED A LOT LATELY.

WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS GROOMING OUR YOUNG STUDENTS TO BE GREAT, SUCCESSFUL ADULTS AND LEADERS IN THE COMMUNITY.

THAT'S THE ONLY GROOMING THAT'S HAPPENING IN THESE DISTRICTS.

FOR ALL OF THE RESIDENTS THAT I REPRESENT BEING ELECTED FOR A SECOND TIME.

I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE OVERWHELMING SENTIMENT IS THAT WE APPRECIATE YOU.

WE KNOW WHERE YOU STAND.

WE TRUST YOU AND THANK YOU FOR THE JOB YOU'RE DOING I IMPLORE YOU TO STAY STEADFAST IN WHAT YOU'RE DOING.

EVERYONE THAT'S BEEN UP SPEAKING, MOST OF THEM KNOW THERE'S A PROCESS, THEY AVOID THE PROCESS BECAUSE IT DOESN'T ALLOW THEM TO THEN HAVE THIS 15 SECONDS OF WHATEVER THEY'RE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH.

IF THEY REALLY CARED ABOUT A BOOK IN THE SCHOOL, THEY KNOW THERE'S A PROCESS BETWEEN OUR TWO SCHOOL DISTRICTS.

TEN BOOKS HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED OVER THE LAST YEARS.

THAT'S NOT THE MOTIVATION AND THE GOAL THAT'S HERE. THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. [APPLAUSE].

>> MAYOR FULLER BEFORE YOU LEAVE, WE APPRECIATE YOU COMING TO SPEAK.

I KNOW A LOT OF OUR FOLKS DON'T KNOW THAT, THEY'RE ALMOST 10,000 STUDENTS IN PRESCRIBES D THAT RESIDE IN THE CITY OF MCKINNEY.

[00:25:05]

YOU GUYS ARE A BIG PART OF WHAT WE DO AND WE'RE VERY THANKFUL YOU CAME TO SPEAK TONIGHT. THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU MAYOR FULLER. [APPLAUSE] THAT WAS OUR LAST SPEAKER FOR THE EVENING.

ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE THAT WE WEREN'T ABLE TO GET TO BECAUSE OF JUST NEED TO GET THROUGH ALL OF OUR SPEAKERS, PLEASE AS ALWAYS, FEEL FREE TO EMAIL US.

WE ARE HERE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS AND TO SAPPHO'S AS WELL.

>> [BACKGROUND]

>> JUST GOING TO REMIND, THE MEETING IS ADJOURNED AND SIGN UP IS 15 MINUTES BEFORE WE WRAP UP.

THE COMMENT I WANTED TO MAKE WAS JUST TO REMIND THE AUDIENCE THAT THE VIDEO OF THIS MEETING WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE WITHIN 48 HOURS ALONG WITH ANSWERS TO ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT WERE ASKED TODAY.

MAYBE WITH SOME SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION, PERHAPS THAT WASN'T GIVEN ON THE FLY IF IT WASN'T AVAILABLE, SO JUST A REMINDER TO EVERYBODY THAT MAY WATCH IT OR THAT'S HERE TONIGHT. THANKS.

>> THANK YOU SO MUCH. OUR MEETING IS ADJOURNED IT'S 5:56.
