WE'LL MOVE ON TO ITEM 3A, RECOGNITION'S SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH, DR.

WALDROP. SO IF YOU'LL NOTICE YOU'VE BEEN RECOGNIZED. YEAH, YEAH.

FOLKS, WE CANNOT EXPRESS I KNOW MYSELF AND I KNOW I SPEAK FOR MANY OTHERS.

THE HOURS YOU PUT IN THE DEVOTION YOU HAVE TO THE DISTRICT, TO THE STUDENTS, THE STUDENTS PARENTS, THE TEACHERS THAT WORK IN OUR DISTRICT, EVERYONE THAT THAT'S EMPLOYED HERE, WE ARE VERY THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU DO FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND HOW YOU'VE GOVERNED THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND HOW YOU SET AN EXAMPLE FOR US FOR HOW WE SHOULD CONDUCT OURSELVES, HOW WE SHOULD TEACH THE STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT.

WE'RE ALL VERY PLEASED TO WORK FOR YOU.

WE'RE VERY THANKFUL TO HAVE YOU AS A SCHOOL BOARD.

I KNOW I CAN SAY THAT PERSONALLY, I DON'T KNOW IF ANYBODY ELSE WANTS TO GIVE THEIR THOUGHTS AND IDEAS ABOUT OUR SCHOOL BOARD, BUT I DO KNOW THAT Y'ALL ARE A CUT ABOVE AND WE'RE VERY THANKFUL TO HAVE YOU GOVERNING OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT.

OH, AND I ALSO WANT TO SAY ONE OTHER THING I KNOW WE HAVE MR. RUDY IS STEPPING DOWN.

WE KNOW, CHAD, YOU HAVE BEEN THE CALM, THE STORM, THE VOICE OF REASON ON MANY OCCASIONS, AND WE LOOK TO YOU, WE'VE ALWAYS LOOKED TO YOU FOR LEADERSHIP.

WE'RE GOING TO MISS YOU GREATLY.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR YEARS OF SERVICE AND EVERYTHING YOU'VE CONTRIBUTED TO FRISCO ISD. THANK YOU.

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU, DR.

WALDROP, AND I DON'T EVER SPEAK ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD, BECAUSE THAT'S NOT MY ROLE.

HOWEVER, I WILL RIGHT NOW AND SAY THAT WE ARE SO OVERLY THANKFUL AND BLESSED TO BE A PART OF YOUR TEAM AND TO HAVE SUCH AN INCREDIBLE DISTRICT TO BE ABLE TO PUT A LITTLE BIT OF OUR TIME AND ENERGY AND TALENTS INTO.

AND WE ARE THANKFUL THAT THE COMMUNITY HAS GIVEN US THESE OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE THIS DISTRICT AND STUDENTS AND STAFF AND TEACHERS, AND I CAN'T THINK OF A BETTER DISTRICT IN WHICH TO SERVE. SO WE LOVE YOU GUYS VERY MUCH AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THE WORK THAT YOU DO AS WELL. WE'LL MOVE ON TO ITEM 3B, STAFF RECOGNITIONS.

[3.B. Staff Recognitions]

DR. CUNNINGHAM. THANK YOU.

WE HAVE TWO AMAZING STAFF MEMBERS TO HONOR TONIGHT.

MR. JACKSON WILL INTRODUCE YOU AND THEN WE WILL HAVE YOU COME TO CENTER STAGE WHERE AFTERWARDS WE CAN TAKE A PHOTO SO WE CAN REMEMBER THIS DAY FOREVER.

ALL RIGHT. GOOD EVENING, MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD AND IST, THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME AND RECOGNIZE A COUPLE OF OUR AWESOME STAFF MEMBERS TONIGHT.

FIRST, I WANT TO START OFF WITH JENNA BECKER.

GIVE EVERYBODY A LITTLE WAVE.

THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE] JENNA HAS BEEN ELECTED AS THE NEW TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS PRESIDENT.

THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR BECKER, WHO HAS SERVED FRISCO ISD

[00:05:02]

FOR SIX YEARS AS AN LSSP.

TASP IS A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS AND ADVOCATES FOR SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS HAVING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON SCHOOL SYSTEMS TO IMPROVE ACADEMIC SKILL, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL FUNCTION AND MENTAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH OF ALL STUDENTS.

JENNA EXPLAINED THAT HER FAVORITE PART OF BEING A SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST IS GETTING TO HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON STUDENTS OVERALL WELL-BEING BY WORKING INDIVIDUALLY WITH STUDENTS AND BY WORKING WITH SCHOOL TEAMS. SHE HAS BEEN ON THE TASK BOARD FOR SEVEN YEARS AT THE CONVENTION AS THE CONVENTION CHAIR AND AREA ONE REPRESENTATIVE, AND WE ARE INCREDIBLY PROUD OF JENNA.

THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT.

CONGRATULATIONS. [APPLAUSE] AND NOW WE HAVE JENNIFER VASQUEZ, SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR.

SHE HAS BEEN NAMED THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE TEXAS PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION DIAGNOSTICIANS FOR THE TWENTY ONE POINT TWENTY TWO SCHOOL YEAR.

SHE WAS ELECTED AND IS CURRENTLY SERVING IN HER FIFTH YEAR OF A SIX YEAR TERM ON THE TPED BOARD. TPED IS AN ORGANIZATION OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS WHO HAVE ACHIEVED A HIGHER ACADEMIC, I'M SORRY, HIGHER DEGREE OF EXCELLENCE WITHIN THE PROFESSION AND AS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD, JEN IS CONTRIBUTING TO THE DIAGNOSTICIAN PROFESSION AND ADVOCATING FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES.

SINCE JOINING FRISCO ISD LAST SCHOOL YEAR, SHE HAS LED THE FRISCO DIAGNOSTICIAN TEAM AND IS ALSO ENCOURAGED THOSE ELIGIBLE TO PURSUE THIS ESTEEMED RECOGNITION AS WELL.

ONCE AGAIN, WE ARE VERY PROUD OF JEN VASQUEZ AND HER CONTRIBUTIONS.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. [APPLAUSE] MS. ARCHAMBAULT AND DR. WALDROP, WOULD YOU GUYS MIND COMING DOWN FOR A PICTURE? THANK YOU.

THANK YOU. WE'LL MOVE ON TO ITEM 4, DISCUSSION REGARDING EXPANSION AND RENOVATION OF

[4. Discussion regarding expansion and renovation of Career and Technical Education Center]

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER DR.

FOUCHE. I WOULD LIKE TO INVITE CONRAD WITH HUCKABEE TO COME UP TO THE PODIUM.

YOU GUYS HAVE MET CONRAD BEFORE, BUT HE WAS HE WAS ON THE ORIGINAL TEAM THAT HELPED DESIGN THE KATE CENTER AND WHAT HE'S GOING TO SHOW YOU TODAY.

IF YOU REMEMBER, PART OF OUR TWENTY EIGHTEEN BOND PROGRAM WAS THE EXPANSION OF THE KATE CENTER. AND IF THERE'S THERE'S ANYTHING THAT'S ALWAYS JUST REALLY, REALLY POPULAR DOING A BOND PROGRAM BECAUSE OF ALL THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR STUDENTS THAT IT REPRESENTS, IT'S THIS PROGRAM.

SO I WILL LET CONRAD GET GOING.

GREAT, THANK YOU. DR.

WALDROP, THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, LEADERSHIP.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPPORTUNITY.

MY NAME IS CONRAD JUDD. AS YOU'VE HEARD, I REALLY WANT TO THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF HUCKABEE AND THE PROJECT TEAM TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THIS PRESENTATION OR DESIGN DEVELOPMENT LEVEL FOR THE PRESENT TECH PROGRAM AND RESPECT TO APPRECIATION FOR THE BOARD MEMBERS.

I WILL KEEP THIS AS SUCCINCT AS I POSSIBLY CAN.

THAT WILL BE MY GIFT TO YOU IN TERMS OF THIS PRESENTATION ON OUR OUR PROJECT.

SO AND I BELIEVE YOU'VE ALL GOT THE DOCUMENT.

SO I'M GOING TO RUN STRAIGHT TO A DIAGRAM THAT I THINK REALLY HELPS TELL THE STORY AND THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE WHOLE PROJECT.

AND THAT REALLY THIS GRAPHIC DIAGRAM IS TO SHOW THERE IS A NEED, THERE IS A NEED AT THE CRUTCHER TECH CENTER AND THERE'S A NEED FOR PROGRAMS THAT ARE ALREADY IN PLACE AND THERE'S A NEED FOR FUTURE PROGRAMS. AND SO TO THE LEFT, YOU SEE THE EXISTING SPACES THAT WE WERE ABLE TO REALLOCATE AND GROW.

ALL THOSE THAT ARE IN COLOR ARE SPACES THAT WE ARE ABLE TO CAPTURE AND REPURPOSE AND GROW PROGRAMS AND ON THE RIGHT AS THE ADDITION.

AND SO YOU SEE THE EXPANSION AND ADDITIONAL SPACES THAT WE AND PROGRAMS WERE ABLE TO ADD THERE. AND THOSE ENCOMPASS HEALTH SCIENCE, ARCHITECTURE, GRAPHICS.

SOME OF THE NEW PROGRAMS WOULD BE CYBER SECURITY AND AN AI LAB AND E SPORTS A NUMBER OF GREAT PROGRAMS THAT YOU WOULD BE ADDING TO AS WELL.

WHAT WAS REALLY NICE IN TERMS OF DEVELOPING THIS? THIS TRIGGERED THE INITIAL CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR STAFF AND YOUR LEADERS AND INCLUDING STUDENTS. SO WE HAD EVERYONE INVOLVED REALLY CONTRIBUTING TO THE DISCUSSION ABOUT THE NEEDS AND MAKING SURE WE WERE GOING TO ACCOMMODATE ALL THESE NEEDS AND DO THAT VERY SUCCESSFULLY. SO EVERYBODY WAS INVOLVED AND WE HAD SEVERAL MEETINGS THAT WAS REALLY

[00:10:01]

HELPFUL AND BENEFICIAL.

THIS NEXT REALLY TAKES THAT GRAPHIC FORM AND PUTS IT IN NUMERIC FORM.

YOU SEE THAT WE WERE JUST REALLY USING JUST TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE SPACES WE DEVELOPED, WE'RE GOING TO ACCOMMODATE THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS THAT WERE NEEDED IN EACH SPACE.

YES, THAT TOTAL AT THE BOTTOM SAYS FOUR FIFTY EIGHT.

BUT THAT IS, IF EVERYONE WAS IN ONE CLASS AT ONE TIME AND WITH YOUR A-B SCHEDULES, THAT NUMBER WOULD DRAMATICALLY INCREASE.

IT WAS JUST A WAY FOR US TO VERIFY THE CAPACITY OF THE ROOMS. SO LET'S JUMP INTO THE SITE PLAN, THIS IS ANOTHER FAIRLY LENGTHY DISCUSSION THAT WE WENT THROUGH IN TERMS OF MAKING SURE THAT WE TEST FIT THIS, MADE SURE WE WERE ADDING ON TO THE RIGHT SPACES AND PLACES.

MAKE SURE WE MAXIMIZE YOUR YOUR SITE SO YOU CAN SEE WADE BOULEVARD AND OHIO WHERE YOU'RE ORIENTATED, SO YOUR READ CORRECTLY.

THE ADMIN BUILDING IS HERE ON THE LOWER RIGHT.

LABEL NUMBER ONE IS THE EXISTING IN GRAY AND YOU SEE IN WHITE HERE ON THE RIGHT NEXT TO OHIO'S THE TWO STORY EXPANSION THAT WE HAVE DONE, ADDING ON TO YOUR MOST RECENT EXPANSION AND THEN WE ARE DOING A ONE STORY ADDITION JUST OFF OF THE VET MED AREA.

THAT IS THAT'S THE LAYOUT OF OUR SITE PLAN AS WE MOVE INTO THE ACTUAL FLOOR PLANS, THIS IS THAT FIRST FLOOR, AS YOU SEE IN THIS KEY PLAN HERE ON THE RIGHT, THAT FIRST FLOOR ADDITION HERE IN THE GRADING, SEE WHERE WE'RE ADDING AND CONNECTING ONTO THE MOST RECENT ADDITION. THIS FIRST FLOOR IS A GOOD COMBINATION A MIXTURE OF CLASSROOMS AND LAB SPACES, PRIMARILY THE GRAPHICS AND ARCHITECTURE PROGRAMS OR IN THIS LEVEL, BUT A GOOD MIX OF THE CLASSROOMS AND LABS.

WE DO HAVE THE CENTER CORE SPACE THAT IS THE KIND OF COMMONS TO THE WHOLE SPACE, AND YOU'LL SEE THAT IN THE RENDERINGS, BUT IT'S REALLY WHAT CONNECTS THE FIRST AND SECOND FLOOR AND THESE SPACES THAT ARE SURROUNDING YOU SEE THAT MONUMENTAL STAIR AS WE GO THE SECOND FLOOR. YOU SEE, THIS SECOND FLOOR IS PRIMARILY MADE UP OF LABS FOR THE ANIMATION PROGRAM AND THE NEW THE NEW AI LAB.

WE ALSO HAVE A TEACHER PLANNING SPACE AND A NUMBER OF STUDENT FOCUSED SPACES AND CONFERENCE SPACES. SO A LOT OF OUR DISCUSSION WAS ABOUT PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH CHOICE AND FLEXIBILITY AND BEING ABLE TO WORK IN SMALL GROUPS, IN LARGE GROUPS, AS WELL AS THE STAFF BEING ABLE TO MEET AND COLLABORATE AS WELL.

AS WE JUMP TO THE ONE STORY EDITION, IT'S OFF OF THE VET MED, YOU CAN SEE HERE THAT WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND THAT PROGRAM, THE NEED IT WAS THERE AND TO MOVE FLORAL INTO A LARGER SPACE AS WELL AND ADD ON SOME CLASSROOM SPACE IN THAT AREA AS WELL.

THE ADDITIONS AND RENOVATION, EXCUSE ME, THE RENOVATIONS.

THIS IS PART OF THAT FIRST FLOOR AND THAT CENTER SECTION.

THE AUDIO VISUAL PROGRAMS WERE HAD A FEW SPACES THAT WERE A LITTLE UNDERUTILIZED, AND SO WE WERE ABLE TO REPURPOSE THAT SPACE FOR YOUR FISD PLUS PROGRAM, WHERE THERE'S SOME VIRTUAL RECORDING AND CASTING BROADCASTING FROM THAT AREA.

AS YOU MOVE TO THE SECOND FLOOR, THESE SPACES ALSO IN THAT CENTER SECTION WERE ORIGINALLY ARCHITECTURE, GRAPHICS AND SO FORTH.

BUT WE WERE ABLE TO REPURPOSE THOSE AS WE ADDED NEW.

SO NOW THE ENTIRE SECOND FLOOR IS MADE UP OF HEALTH SCIENCE.

SO IT WAS A REAL BIG MOVE TO BE ABLE TO GET THEM ALL GROUPED TOGETHER IN A GREAT WAY TO REUSE THAT SPACE FOR THEM.

SO AS WE JUMP TO THE EXTERIOR, YOU HOPEFULLY SEE THAT OUR GOAL HERE WAS TO MAKE THIS EDITION LOOK LIKE IT WAS PART OF THEIR ORIGINAL CAMPUS AND REALLY BLEND IN AND REALLY LET YOUR COMMUNITY SEE THIS AS SOMETHING THAT WAS ORIGINALLY THERE.

TO THE RIGHT IS THAT TWO STORY EXPANSION AND THE CENTER SECTION IS A RECENT ADDITION.

AND THE FAR LEFT HERE AND THE RED BRICK IS THAT ONE STORY EDITION.

SO ALL OF IT, WE WORKED REALLY HARD TO MAKE SURE IT BLEND IN AND FIT AND MADE SENSE WITH THE ORIGINAL CAMPUS.

THIS THAT WAS FACING OHIO, THIS IS FACING WADE, JUST ANOTHER VIEW, SEEING HOW THAT CONNECTION IS TAKING PLACE BETWEEN THE EXISTING AND THE NEW.

SO THAT WAS IMPORTANT FOR US TO HAVE A STRONG CONNECTION SO THAT IT WAS A CLEAN ADDITION.

THIS IS MOVING INTO THAT CONNECTOR, SO YOU SEE HERE ON THE LEFT, THE EXISTING WE WORKED REALLY HARD AND HAD A LOT OF CONVERSATION ABOUT MAINTAINING ALL THAT WAS DONE AND CONTRIBUTED TO THAT PAST.

SO KEEPING THE ARCHITECTURE AND THE MATERIALS CLEAN AS AS THEY ARE AND TO THE RIGHT WOULD BE THE NEW EXPANSION.

SO THIS AFFORDED, WE THINK, AS AN ARCHITECT OPPORTUNITY FOR TEACHING AND INSTRUCTION IN TERMS OF HOW THE STRUCTURES AND SPACE AND MATERIALS ARE BEING USED.

SO THIS MOVES YOU INTO THAT TWO STORY SPACE AND LETS YOU SEE THAT CONNECTOR, THE

[00:15:02]

MONUMENTAL STARE YOU CAN SEE HERE ON THE LEFT, WHERE WE STARTED TO BRAND AND ADVERTISE SUGGESTED GRAPHICS FOR THE E SPORTS.

YOU CAN SEE HOW THAT REALLY CONNECTS WELL VISUALLY TO THAT OPEN SPACE.

WE HAD DISCUSSIONS ABOUT THIS REALLY BEING MORE OF AN EVENT SPACE, A MULTIPURPOSE SPACE, YES, PART OF E SPORTS, BUT YOU COULD CREATE AND DO ANY NUMBER OF EXERCISES THERE.

THIS TAKES YOU UP TO THAT SECOND FLOOR AND ALLOWS YOU TO SEE HOW THAT CONNECTS TO THOSE UPPER LABS AND SPACES.

WE GOT PLAYFUL WITH MATERIALS IN TERMS OF THE LIGHT AND LIGHTING, BUT WE'RE STAYING TRUE TO THE EXISTING MATERIALS THAT ARE ALREADY IN THE SPACE OR IN THE EXISTING BUILDING.

SO ONCE AGAIN, AS YOU MOVE THROUGH THE INTERIOR SPACE, YOU SEE IT AS PART OF WHAT WAS ALREADY ORIGINALLY THERE, AND I WOULD IMAGINE THAT IT WAS PART OF THE ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION. AND FROM THERE, I WANT TO MOVE TO THE SCHEDULE.

YOU SEE, WE ARE CURRENTLY TODAY AND WE'RE MOVING INTO THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS.

THE PLAN IS THAT THIS WOULD GO OUT TO BID AND START CONSTRUCTION SOMEWHERE IN AUGUST OF THIS YEAR, AND THEN IT WOULD BE COMPLETED BY FOR THE FALL SEMESTER OF 2024.

I BEFORE I MOVED TO TO SOME QUESTIONS, I DID WANT TO QUICKLY SHOW YOU WE COULDN'T RESIST.

WE REALLY FELT LIKE WE NEEDED AS ARCHITECTS TO CREATE A CREATE A FILE, A PROGRAM FOR SOMETHING THAT COULD BE USED BY YOUR COMMUNITY, BY YOURSELVES.

AND POTENTIALLY, WE WOULD HOPE THIS TOOL COULD BE USED, MAYBE BY STUDENTS IN TERMS OF THEIR ARCHITECTURAL PROGRAMS OR GRAPHIC PROGRAMS WITH THIS.

THIS WOULD ALLOW THEM TO MOVE THROUGH AND NAVIGATE THE PROGRAM THEMSELVES.

I'M NOT A GAMING EXPERT, SO I'M NOT GOING TO PRETEND THAT I CAN DRIVE THIS TRAIN, BUT IT DOES ALLOW YOU TO MOVE INTO SPACE TO NAVIGATE SPACE, AND WE FELT LIKE IT WAS IMPORTANT TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THIS AND BE ABLE TO USE THIS FOR STUDENTS.

SO THIS IS JUST GIVING YOU A TASTE OF OF A TOOL THAT WE FELT MIGHT BE HELPFUL AND BENEFICIAL. FOR YOUR DISTRICT.

TO BE ABLE TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE PROGRAM AND TAKE A LOOK AT THE SPACE.

SO WITH THAT, I WOULD LIKE TO OPEN UP FOR ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE.

BOARD, ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? I HAVE A QUESTION ONLY BECAUSE MY CHILD HAS BEEN AT THE KATE CENTER.

THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN PARKING DOES THE EXPANSION.

WILL THAT IMPACT THE FLOW OR THE ABILITY TO BE ABLE TO PARK THERE? NO, I THINK FORTUNATELY, BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION OF THE ADDITIONS, IT REALLY HAS VERY LITTLE IMPACT AT ALL ON THE TRAFFIC.

WE WERE NOT REALLY AFFECTING ANY OF THE ROADWAYS OF ENTERING AND EXITING, SO IT SHOULD NOT BE ANY ISSUES WITH THAT.

EXCELLENT. THANK YOU.

NOT A QUESTION, JUST A COMMENT, JUST THANKING YOU FOR THE UPDATE, BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT THE LAST BOND THIS WAS A SIGNIFICANT PRIORITY FROM OUR COMMUNITY, NOT ONLY TO MEET THE DEMAND FOR THE GROWTH IN OUR DISTRICT, ADDING ON SINCE THEN GOT CLOSE TO FOUR HIGH SCHOOLS, MAYBE SINCE THAT LAST ONE.

SO MEETING THAT DEMAND, BUT ALSO CONTINUING TO EXPAND THE PROGRAMS IN THERE.

SO I APPRECIATE THE WORK THAT'S GOING ON AND SEEING THE DESIGN AND SEEING THIS ALL COME TOGETHER. SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

YOU'RE WELCOME. I DO WANT TO SAY THAT I MIGHT HAVE MISSED.

THERE'S A LOT OF DISCUSSION ABOUT THESE LABS BEING VERY FLEXIBLE, SIMILAR TO THE LABS YOU'VE RECENTLY ADDED.

SO IT REALLY ACCOMMODATES FUTURE TRANSITIONS AS NEW CAREER PATHS COME ABOUT.

YOU CAN QUICKLY ADAPT TO THOSE AND BE ABLE TO FULFILL THOSE.

I'D LIKE TO PROVIDE A LITTLE HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE TO THIS.

A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND IT.

YOU GO BY, YOU SEE THE KATE CENTER THAT BUILDINGS NOW 15 YEARS OLD AND IT IS STILL STATE OF THE ART. IT IS VERY FLEXIBLE.

IT HAS BEEN A MODEL THAT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT FROM ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES AND PROBABLY INTERNATIONALLY. MR. JUDD AND DR.

CUNNINGHAM WERE IN ON THE ORIGINAL PIECE OF DESIGNING THAT FACILITY IN THE VERY BEGINNING 17 YEARS AGO OR SO.

SO THEY WORKED ON THIS PROJECT AGAIN WITH SEVERAL OTHERS TO BASICALLY FOR THE EXPANSION.

AND THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS ABOUT THAT BUILDING THAT ARE UNIQUE IS IT WILL BE USEFUL FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND DECADES TO COME BECAUSE OF THE WAY THAT IT'S BUILT.

IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN IN THERE, I WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO SEE THIS FACILITY AND HOW IT'S BEING USED WITH THE PROGRAMING.

THE THEY TALKED ABOUT THE SECOND FLOOR BECOMING THE HUB FOR HEALTH SCIENCE.

IT BASICALLY DOUBLES THE CAPACITY OF WHAT WE WILL HAVE GO THROUGH OUR NURSING PROGRAM.

AND THEN WE HAVE AN ARTICULATION AGREEMENT ACROSS THE STREET WITH COLLIN COLLEGE AND WE'RE WORKING ON SOME OTHER ONES.

SO IF THEY COMPLETE THE PROGRAM HERE SATISFACTORILY, THEN THEY GET AUTOMATIC ENTRANCE

[00:20:04]

INTO THE INTO THE RN PROGRAM OVER THERE.

SO THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS THAT ARE REALLY DIRECTLY FROM SCHOOL TO WORK, SCHOOL TO COLLEGE, MULTIPLE THINGS THAT WE PROVIDE CERTIFICATES FOR WHERE STUDENTS CAN GO DIRECTLY INTO THE WORKFORCE.

SO THAT BUILDING IS A VERY, VERY UNIQUE.

IT'S EVERY TIME I GO IN IT AND WALK IN IT, I AM STILL AMAZED ABOUT HOW GOOD A SHAPE IT IS BECAUSE IT WAS THE WAY IT WAS BUILT, THE WAY IT WAS DONE.

AND IT'S STILL ONE OF THE IT'S ONE OF ONE OF THE GEMS THAT WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE HERE, AND WE'VE HAD IT FOR A LONG TIME.

AND I APPRECIATE YOU GUYS AND THE WORK YOU'VE DONE.

AND THERE WAS A LARGE GROUP THAT PROVIDED THE VISIONING FOR THIS ABOUT WHAT WE WANTED TO EXPAND BECAUSE TIME PASSES, THINGS CHANGE IN 15 YEARS AGO TO NOW TO OUR YOUNGSTERS RIGHT NOW THAT ARE COMING UP, GETTING READY TO UTILIZE THIS FACILITY, KIND OF.

THEY HAVE A MUCH DIFFERENT FUTURE, DIFFERENT OCCUPATION, SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS LIKE WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT 15 YEARS AGO, EGAMING IS A DEAL, AND IT IS A TURNED INTO A HUGE THING. SO I JUST WANTED TO PROVIDE A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE ABOUT WHAT THAT FACILITIES MEAN, AND I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF KIDS GO THROUGH OVER THERE A WEEK, BUT IT'S A SUBSTANTIAL NUMBER OF OUR HIGH SCHOOL KIDS THAT WE TRANSPORT IN.

SOME OF THEM DRIVE BACK AND FORTH, BUT IT'S A MARVELOUS FACILITY.

THE VISION OF THE BOARD TO BASICALLY ALLOW THAT PUT IT ON AND WE IN THE COMMUNITY TO PUT IT BACK ON THE BOND AGAIN TO PROVIDE ANOTHER UPDATE TO THAT AND EXPANSION OF THAT BUILDING. THIS IS ACTUALLY THE THIRD ONE, THE SECOND, THE SECOND EXPANSION.

AND AND WE WILL TOTALLY UTILIZE EVERY BIT OF THAT SPACE TO PROVIDE IT FOR OUR STUDENTS AND OUR FAMILIES. SO CONRAD, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU, BOARD, ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS? OK. THANK YOU SO MUCH, WE APPRECIATE THE UPDATE.

[5. Invocation]

THANK YOU. WELL, NOW MOVE ON TO ITEM FIVE INVOCATION, MS. DAVIS. PLEASE BOW YOUR HEADS AND JOIN ME IN A MOMENT OF SILENCE AND RECOGNITION OF EVERY FAITH THAT IS REPRESENTED IN FRISCO ISD.

FATHER, THANK YOU FOR EVERY SEAT THAT HAS BEEN FILLED HERE TODAY FOR EACH MIND AND HEART THAT FILLS THE PRESENCE OF THIS ROOM, WE THANK YOU.

ONLY YOU TRULY KNOW WHAT WE ARE SETTING OUT TO ACCOMPLISH TODAY.

WE HAVE AN IDEA, A VISION, HINTS AND DAILY INSTRUCTIONS.

WE HAVE TALENTS, ABILITIES AND TIME TO WORK.

HOWEVER, ONLY YOU CAN SEE IN PERFECT DETAIL THE END OF EVERY BEGINNING, EVERY PROJECT, EVERY SEASON, EVERY LIFE.

NOTHING IS EVER IN VAIN FOR EVEN MISTAKES AND MISSTEPS ARE USED FOR GOOD.

STRENGTHEN OUR CONFIDENCE IN WHO YOU HAVE MADE US TO BE.

BLESS THIS MEETING TODAY.

ALL THOSE PRESENT AS WELL AS THE LIVES OF THOSE WE WILL ENCOUNTER AFTERWARD.

READY US TO MAKE EVERY MOMENT COUNT.

AMEN. WE'LL MOVE ON TO ITEM SIX, BOARD REPORT.

[6. Board Report]

BOARD, ANY THING TO SHARE? I'M HAPPY TO KICK THAT OFF IF THAT'S COOL WITH YOU GUYS, AND WE ALL WERE ON CAMPUSES LAST WEEK FOR THE START OF OUR SPRING SEMESTER, AND WE WELCOMED BACK ALL OF OUR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS AND STAFF AND BEING ON CAMPUS TO HELP WITH LUNCHES AND TO OPEN THE DOOR TO WELCOME EVERYONE BACK FOR A GOOD START OF THE SEMESTER.

AND I TELL YOU WHAT, IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE THING TO OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF JUST DIDN'T MISS A STEP. SO WATCHING THEM IN THEIR IN THEIR SPACE AND ON THEIR CAMPUSES INTERACTING WITH OUR KIDS WAS A TRUE JOY.

AND, YOU KNOW, WE ALWAYS SAY WE'RE THANKFUL AND THAT WE WE LOVE THEM AND LOVE BEING IN THIS DISTRICT. BUT I TELL YOU TO WATCH FIRSTHAND WHAT THEY'RE ABLE TO DO AND ACCOMPLISH WITH OUR STUDENTS WAS JUST AN UNBELIEVABLE THING TO BE ABLE TO TO WITNESS FOR A GOOD THREE OR FOUR HOURS. SO JUST MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO ALL OF OUR STAFF AND TEACHERS WHO ARE MAKING THIS SEMESTER SO GREAT AND ALL OF OUR STUDENTS FOR COMING BACK AND GETTING READY TO LEARN EVERY DAY. SO WE'RE VERY APPRECIATIVE.

I'D LIKE TO PIGGYBACK OFF OF THAT JUST A LITTLE BIT.

OH, SORRY. OKAY, GO AHEAD.

I WAS SO THANKFUL TO GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE BACK ON A CAMPUS AND TO SEE THE SMILES OF THE KIDS. I THINK ISBELL HAD 200 STUDENTS COME BACK FROM VIRTUAL TO IN-PERSON AND THE STAFF, THE TEACHERS, EVERYBODY ON THAT CAMPUS.

AS I HAVE HEARD, ALL OF THE CAMPUSES HANDLED IT LIKE CHAMPS AND THE KIDS AND THE SMILES AND THE EXCITEMENT TO SEE KINDERGARTNERS WHO'D NEVER BEEN TO SCHOOL BEFORE.

IT WAS EXCITING AND IT WAS GOOD.

IT WAS GOOD TO SEE THAT. SO.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR LETTING US SHARE IN THAT.

I'D LIKE TO ECHO BOTH YOU AND NATALIE AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE BACK ON A CAMPUS WHILE I

[00:25:05]

NEVER TAUGHT IN FRISCO, I HAVE TAUGHT AND IT WAS JUST A GREAT EXPERIENCE TO BE ABLE TO HAND OUT LUNCH AND TO WALK THE HALLS AND JUST GET AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THE KIDS IN ACTION. SO GRATEFUL FOR THE PARENTS THAT SENT THEIR KIDS WITH THOSE PEP TALKS BECAUSE SOME OF THOSE PEP TALKS WERE HEARD WALKING, WALKING THROUGH THE HALLS AND ALSO THE HUGS AND EMBRACES. WHEN KIDS, WHEN SIBLINGS GOT OFF OF THE BUS TO HUG EACH OTHER AND GO INTO SEPARATE DOORS, IT WAS MEANINGFUL.

SO JUST HAPPY THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO BE BACK.

AND I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO CHILD NUTRITION FOR MAKING THE FIRST DAY BACK AT SCHOOL PANCAKE DAY BECAUSE THAT WAS REALLY GREAT AND THE KIDS WERE SUPER EXCITED TO HAVE PANCAKES FOR LUNCH.

AND I WAS A LITTLE BIT JEALOUS, SO THAT WAS AWESOME.

GOOD CHOICE THERE. THANK YOU, BOARD.

[7. Communication to and from the Board including public comments]

WE'LL MOVE ON TO ITEM SEVEN, COMMUNICATIONS TO AND FROM THE BOARD, INCLUDING PUBLIC COMMENTS. SECRETARY RUDEINEH.

OK, MR. CLASSE.

WE NOW MOVE TO A PUBLIC COMMENT SESSION OF OUR AGENDA.

THE BOARD WELCOMES COMMENTS FROM CITIZENS WHO HAVE COMPLETED PUBLIC COMMENT CARDS THIS EVENING, WHICH YOU'RE ACCEPTED UNTIL 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF THE OPEN MEETING AND ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE TO OTHER SPEAKERS.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE INFORMATION SHARED IN PUBLIC COMMENT IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF THE INFORMATION SHARED BY THE PRESENTER AND SOLELY PROVIDES THE OPINION OF THE INDIVIDUAL SPEAKER, NOT THE DISTRICT.

DURING THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD, COMMENTS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, ONLY NOT OTHER ATTENDEES AND ONLY MADE ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED UPON TO SPEAK TO ENSURE THAT ALL SPEAKERS ARE TREATED EQUALLY AND HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME, THE PODIUM MICROPHONE WILL BE TURNED OFF AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE TIME FOR EVERY SPEAKER.

THE TOTAL TIME ALLOTTED FOR THE PUBLIC COMMENT SESSION IS 30 MINUTES, EACH SPEAKER SHALL HAVE TWO MINUTES TO ADDRESS. THE BOARD SPEAKERS WILL BE CALLED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THE INDIVIDUAL, EACH INDIVIDUAL, SIGNED UP TO SPEAK.

PLEASE KEEP ALL PUBLIC COMMENTS RELATED TO SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNANCE AND OPERATIONS.

IF YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC CONCERN RELATED TO AN EMPLOYEE OF THE DISTRICT OR SPECIFIC STUDENT ISSUE, YOU SHOULD UTILIZE THE DISTRICT'S GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES PROVIDED IN BOARD POLICIES.

DGBA LOCAL, F AND G LOCAL AND GF LOCAL.

EACH GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE ALLOWS FOR AN INDIVIDUAL TO REDRESS GRIEVANCES WITH THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. FINALLY, REMEMBER THAT THE BOARD MAY NOT DISCUSS OR ACT UPON ANY ISSUES THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY POSTED ON THE AGENDA.

MADAM PRESIDENT, THANK YOU.

WE WILL START WITH ANNA PRESSIG , FOLLOWED BY NANCY JO LAMBERT.

OK, THANK YOU. SO I WAS HERE DURING YOUR Q&A SESSION, AND I WAS ASKING ABOUT ADVANCED CLASSES REMOVAL, AND YOU DIRECTED ME TO YOUR WEB PAGE AND I, SINCE YOU'VE DIRECTED ME TO YOUR WEB PAGE, ALL OF THE INFORMATION ABOUT PILOT CLASSES AND REMOVAL OF ADVANCED PILOT PROGRAMS IN NINE SCHOOLS HAS BEEN COMPLETELY ERASED.

AND NOW YOU ONLY HAVE THE INFORMATION THAT STATES THAT ADVANCED CLASSES ARE SO GREAT FOR STUDENTS. QUESTION IS, WHY DO YOU SAY THAT ADVANCED CLASSES ARE SO GREAT FOR STUDENTS AND YOU REMOVE THEM IN SOME OF THE PILOT SCHOOLS? I WOULD LIKE TO GET MORE INFORMATION ON THAT, I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO ANSWER, BUT YOU KNOW, YOU REMOVE CLASSES FROM SOME OF THE SCHOOLS AND THEN YOU SAY ON YOUR WEBSITE WHERE YOU DIRECTED ME FOR THE INFORMATION AND I'M SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO FIND THIS INFORMATION, AND IT'S JUST SO PUZZLING TO ME.

AND I GUESS I'M OUT OF TIME NOW, BUT, YOU KNOW, YOU STILL HAVE A MINUTE.

YOU'RE STILL GOOD IF YOU.

YEAH, OH YOU GET TWO MINUTES NOW THAT'S VERY GENEROUS.

SO I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT MORE, AND I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GET THIS INFORMATION, WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO OBTAIN MORE INFORMATION, ESPECIALLY ABOUT THE FUTURE OF ADVANCED CLASSES NEXT SUMMER.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF NEXT SUMMER YOU WILL SEND OUT AN EMAIL THAT MORE ADVANCED CLASSES HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM FRISCO ISD.

I DON'T WANT MY KIDS TO NOT HAVE OPPORTUNITIES IN SCHOOLS.

I DON'T KNOW HOW OTHER PARENTS FEEL ABOUT IT, BUT I JUST FEEL THAT ALL OF THE KIDS DESERVE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SUCCEED AND ATTAIN AND BE CHALLENGED.

THAT'S ALL I HAVE. THANK YOU.

DR. CUNNINGHAM, WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADDRESS IT? YES, I WILL SAY WHAT I WILL DO IS I WILL CONTACT YOU BECAUSE THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE.

SO LET ME CONTACT YOU AND I'LL GIVE YOU THE DIRECT INFORMATION AND MAYBE WE CAN HAVE A CONVERSATION OFFLINE.

BE HAPPY TO DO THAT.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU, DR.

CUNNINGHAM. NANCY JO LAMBERT, FOLLOWED BY HARISH NANDA KUMAR.

AM I GOOD? GOOD EVENING, TRUSTEES, DR WALDRIP AND OUR OTHER FISD LEADERS, I WANT TO BEGIN

[00:30:06]

WITH A HEARTFELT THANKS AND APPRECIATION TO YOU, OUR TRUSTEES IN HONOR OF SCHOOL BOARD APPRECIATION MONTH.

AS A PARENT OF TWO FISD STUDENTS, MY SON IS HERE WITH ME AS AN FISD EDUCATOR AND AS A LONGTIME FRISCO COMMUNITY MEMBER.

I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THE TIME AND ENERGY YOU INVEST IN BEING SERVANT LEADERS OF OUR EXCEPTIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT.

YOU CONTINUE TO STEWARD OUR DISTRICT THROUGH TURBULENT TIMES, KEEPING THE NEEDS AND WELLBEING OF STUDENTS AND STAFF AT THE FOREFRONT OF YOUR DECISION MAKING.

AS A LIBRARIAN, I'M ALSO INCREDIBLY THANKFUL, GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE RIGHT OF ALL STUDENTS TO HAVE ACCESS TO MEANINGFUL BOOKS AND INFORMATION.

I THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING OUR DISTRICT AND BOARD POLICIES AND SUPPORTING OUR LIBRARIES AS PLACES OF VOLUNTARY INQUIRY AND READING CHOICE.

EVERYONE DESERVES TO BE SEEN AND VALUED FOR THEIR FULL AND AUTHENTIC SELF, AND THE BOOKS AND INFORMATION IN OUR LIBRARIES CONTAIN SO MANY PERSPECTIVES.

THOSE PERSPECTIVES AND STORIES REPRESENT THE COMPLEXITY OF THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE, AND THERE'S NO END TO THAT TALE.

AFTER ALL, IN THE WORDS OF [INAUDIBLE] BISHOP, LITERATURE TRANSFORMS HUMAN EXPERIENCE AND REFLECTS IT BACK TO US.

AND IN THAT REFLECTION, WE CAN SEE OUR OWN LIVES AND EXPERIENCES AS PART OF THE LARGER HUMAN EXPERIENCE.

AND WHEN WE ARE AND WHEN THERE ARE ENOUGH BOOKS AVAILABLE THAT CAN ACT AS BOTH MIRRORS AND WINDOWS FOR ALL OUR CHILDREN, THEY WILL SEE THAT WE CAN CELEBRATE BOTH OUR DIFFERENCES AND OUR SIMILARITIES BECAUSE TOGETHER THEY ARE WHAT MAKE US ALL HUMAN? THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP.

THANK YOU. HARISH NANDA KUMAR, FOLLOWED BY KELLY KARTHICK.

GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE. THANK YOU, MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR [INAUDIBLE] AN OPPORTUNITY TO TALK HERE.

I'M HERE TO REQUEST THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO CONSIDER PROVIDING FRISCO ISD KIDS AN OPTION FOR TEMPORARY ONLINE LEARNING OPTION SIMILAR TO THE FALL SEMESTER, IN ADDITION TO THE FACE TO FACE OPTION WE CURRENTLY HAVE.

IN MOST CASES, THE INFECTION SPREADS FROM THE KIDS TO OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, AND STUDIES ARE AVAILABLE PROVING IT.

AND ALSO, I PERSONALLY KNOW FAMILIES WHO ARE IMPACTED BY COVID INFECTION FROM KIDS GOING TO SCHOOL. I CREATED A PETITION REQUESTING THE BOARD.

HOW TO PROVIDE ONLINE LEARNING OPTION, AND CURRENTLY THEY ARE TOTALLY LIKE 2300 FAMILIES SUPPORTING THE PETITION.

AS I SPEAK, THERE ARE A GROWING NUMBER OF SCHOOLS IN DIFFERENT DISTRICTS OFFERING ONLINE LEARNING OPTIONS IN DFW AND OTHER CITIES IN TEXAS.

I SINCERELY HOPE THE FRISCO ISD BRINGS BACK THE ONLINE LEARNING OPTION FOR KIDS.

AS COVID CASES SURGE TO VERY HIGH NUMBERS, IT IS IMPORTANT FOR PARENTS TO PROTECT THE KIDS AND OTHER VULNERABLE FAMILY MEMBERS FROM THE COVID INFECTION.

THE ONLINE LEARNING OPTION PROVIDES A CHANCE TO DO THE RIGHT THING, DEPENDING UPON THE FAMILY SCENARIO, TO PROTECT THE VULNERABLE MEMBERS.

I HOPE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES CONSIDER THIS REQUEST FOR FURTHER ACTION.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

AND OUR FINAL SPEAKER OF THE EVENING IS KELLY KARTHICK.

GOOD EVENING, SUPERINTENDENT AND TRUSTEES IN THE PAST A DAY, I NOTICED AN INCREASE IN COMMUNICATIONS OF WHERE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS CAN GET TESTED, THAT WAS REALLY APPRECIATED. AND I ALSO NOTICED AT OUR SCHOOL THAT THERE'S A SIGN OUT FRONT NOW ASKING PEOPLE NOT TO BLOCK THE HANDICAPPED PEOPLE PARKING THERE, WHICH WAS MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE ALREADY. BUT TODAY I REACHED OUT TO AREA ISD TO SEE HOW THEY ARE HANDLING THEIR COVID DATA ON THEIR DASHBOARDS.

AND I JUST WANTED TO MENTION THAT THE FOLLOWING SCHOOL DISTRICTS UPDATE DAILY ROUND ROCK, HUMBLE, PLANO MCKINNEY, LITTLE ELM, DALLAS GARLAND, TYLER WACO, WILEY, HOUSTON, PARIS, LONGVIEW. AND THAT WAS JUST IN A VERY SHORT RESEARCH TIME.

I ONLY FOUND TWO ISDS THAT WERE NOT REPORTING DAILY.

LEWISVILLE JUST SWITCHED FROM DAILY TO WEEKLY, AND AUSTIN IS WEEKLY.

AND WHAT IS REQUIRED AND WHAT IS HELPFUL, I FEEL, ARE TWO DIFFERENT ISSUES.

SOME SCHOOLS UPDATE TWICE A DAY AND PROVIDE A COLOR CODED ALERT SYSTEM FOR SEVERITY.

AND I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT IF FRISCO ISD CAN SEND OUT DAILY EMAILS ALERTING PARENTS TO THEIR CHILDREN'S COVID EXPOSURE, THEN WE KNOW THAT THE DATA EXISTS.

I'M REQUESTING A MORE PROACTIVE APPROACH THAT FISD CAN AND SHOULD DO BETTER WITH WEEK OLD INFORMATION THAT'S NOT HELPFUL TO ANYONE.

OTHER DISTRICTS WITH FAR LESS RESOURCES THAN OURS ARE GOING TO THE TROUBLE TO KEEP THEIR

[00:35:01]

FAMILIES INFORMED ON A DAILY BASIS, AND I THINK WE SHOULD EMULATE THAT AND DO THE SAME.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION.

DR. WALDROP YES, DR.

FOUCHE, I KNOW YOU INVESTIGATED THE HANDICAP ISSUE, THE PARKING ISSUE.

WE FOUND THAT NOT TO BE AN ISSUE.

WAS THAT CORRECT? ALSO, WHERE IS DANNY STILL HERE? DANNY, YOU WANT TO TALK JUST A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE DASHBOARD? WANT TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE DON'T GET THE WRONG IMPRESSION ABOUT OUR DASHBOARD FROM PUBLIC COMMENT? SURE.

SO WE HAVE WE HAVE TWO PIECES TO OUR DASHBOARD RIGHT NOW.

THE FIRST PIECE IS A DAILY TREND LINE THAT IS UPDATED EVERY EVENING AND THAT SHOWS A CASE NUMBERS ACROSS THE DISTRICT, BOTH BROKEN DOWN BY BOTH STUDENTS AND STAFF BASED ON CASES THAT WERE ON CAMPUS WHILE THE INDIVIDUAL WAS INFECTIOUS.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, WE HAVE A CASE TABLE WHERE WE REPORT CASES BY CAMPUS FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK, AND THAT'S CONSISTENT WITH THE SAME WAY THAT WE REPORT TO THE STATE.

THOSE NUMBERS, OBVIOUSLY ADDITIONALLY, WE WE DO REPORT AS SOON AS THE CASE IS REPORTED TO US, TO THE CAMPUS AND REALLY BY CLASSROOM FOR STUDENTS AS WELL.

SO FAMILIES WHO ARE IN FAMILIES WITH STUDENTS WHO ARE IN A CLASSROOM WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS TESTED POSITIVE WILL RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF THAT ON IT AS SOON AS WE FIND OUT ABOUT IT.

SO THE DASHBOARD IS REALLY DESIGNED TO KIND OF GIVE A HOLISTIC PICTURE OF WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE DISTRICT.

IT'S NOT DESIGNED TO INFORM INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES ABOUT THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL SPECIFIC SITUATIONS THAT IS GOING TO COME FROM THOSE LETTERS THAT THEY GET.

SO, SO AGAIN, THAT WE DO HAVE THAT DAILY TREND LINE THAT UPDATES AND THEN THE CASE TABLE AS WELL. THANK YOU, DANNY.

THANKS. THANK YOU.

DR. WELL, I'M SORRY. CAN I ONE MORE, PLEASE? DR. WALDROP, YOU RECEIVED QUITE A FEW EMAILS TODAY OR WE DID REGARDING WHAT THE ONE GENTLEMAN WAS SPEAKING ABOUT TONIGHT, ABOUT THE EXTENSION OF ONLINE LEARNING.

AND AT THIS TIME, DO YOU WANT TO SPEAK BRIEFLY ABOUT WHERE WE'RE AT WITH THAT NOT OCCURRING AT THIS TIME? WE DON'T HAVE THOSE PLANS, THE ONLINE LEARNING SERVICES THAT WE OFFERED IN THE FALL.

WE WERE VERY CLEAR ABOUT WHEN THOSE SERVICES WOULD END.

THAT IS A VERY.

COMPLEX ENDEAVOR, AND IT WAS SWITCHING FROM ONE MODALITY TO ANOTHER, IT ACTUALLY TOOK SEVERAL MONTHS FOR US TO PREPARE FOR ALL STUDENTS TO COME BACK IN PERSON.

IT IS NOT FLIPPING A SWITCH, AS SOME PEOPLE WOULD THINK.

IT INVOLVES A GREAT DEAL OF TIME AND EFFORT, RESCHEDULING STUDENTS, MOVING TEACHERS AROUND. IT WOULD TAKE US A NUMBER OF WEEKS, PROBABLY SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS, TO EVEN GET BACK TO THAT KIND OF MODALITY, IF WE COULD DO IT AT ALL.

AT THIS POINT, SO IT'S NOT A FEASIBLE OPTION FOR OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT TO DO THAT RIGHT NOW. THANK YOU.

BOARD WILL MOVE ON TO ACTION ITEMS EIGHT A CONSIDER AN ACT ON APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

[8.A. Consider and act on approval of minutes from December 13 regular meeting]

FROM DECEMBER 13TH REGULAR MEETING.

THERE ARE NO QUESTIONS FOR A MOTION.

I MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE DECEMBER 13TH REGULAR MEETING, AS PRESENTED.

SECOND.

MOTION BY MR. RUDY, SECOND BY MR. CLASSE, ALL IN FAVOR OF MOTION PASSES SIX-ZERO.

BOARD WILL MOVE ON TO ITEM 8B, CONSIDER AN ACT ON AMENDMENTS TO BOARD OPERATING

[8.B. Consider and act on amendments to Board Operating Procedures]

PROCEDURES. AS A REMINDER, DURING OUR ANNUAL TEAM OF EIGHT TRAINING THIS YEAR, THE BOARD CONDUCTED A SELF-EVALUATION.

COMING OUT OF THAT PROCESS, WE DECIDED THAT IT'S OUR OPERATING PROCEDURES NEEDED TO BE REVISED TO BETTER REFLECT THE PROCESSES OF OUR BOARD AND TO CLARIFY FOR THE PUBLIC HOW BOARD MEMBERS FULFILL THEIR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE COMMUNITY AND TO OUR TEACHERS, STAFF AND STUDENTS.

THIS IS THE FIRST COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW AND REVISION OF THE OPERATING PROCEDURES THAT WE'VE DONE IN SEVERAL YEARS, HIGHLIGHTING OUR VACANCY PROCESS, PUBLIC COMMENT PROCEDURES AND A FEW OTHER LINE ITEMS. SO I JUST WOULD LIKE TO OPEN UP THE FLOOR FOR DISCUSSION.

IT'S BEEN A LONG ENDEAVOR.

IT'S BEEN A REALLY EYE OPENING PROCESS.

THE PROCESSES THAT ARE NOW IN YOUR IN THE PACKET THAT WE RECEIVE WITH BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES ARE MUCH MORE IN DEPTH THAN I THINK REALLY PROVIDE THE COMMUNITY WITH A CLEAR FRAMEWORK FOR THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES THAT WE HAVE AND HOW AS A BOARD WE OPERATE.

SO LET'S JUST OPEN IT UP AND WE CAN HAVE A DISCUSSION IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS, WE CAN DO THOSE TWO. I THINK ONE OF THE BIGGEST THINGS THAT WE ONE OF THE CONCERNS THAT WE HEARD WHEN WE CHANGED OUR OR WHEN WE TALKED ABOUT THIS WAS PUBLIC COMMENT AND BEING ABLE TO HAVE THAT DIALOG BACK AND FORTH AND BY LAW, WE CANNOT DO THAT.

SO I APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT CLARIFICATION IS BEING MADE AND THAT WE ARE ADDING THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE PUBLIC COMMENT ON A NIGHT WHERE IT'S JUST PUBLIC COMMENT WHEN IT'S NOT AN AGENDA ITEM. SO THAT'S SOMETHING THAT IS A POSITIVE CHANGE FOR US.

[00:40:08]

I'LL JUST ADD WHAT NATALIE SAID, BECAUSE THAT IS SIGNIFICANT, THAT PUBLIC COMMENT, BECAUSE IT IS, IT IS IMPORTANT WE ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE PUBLIC COMMENT IN ANY ACTION ITEMS BY LAW. WE'VE ALWAYS EXPANDED THAT TO TAKE ANY GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT, JUST AS WE DID TONIGHT, AND WE'RE ALWAYS EMBRACING THAT AND WANTING TO HAVE THAT FEATURE AT A MEETING AND THAT IT'S ONE OF THE MANY WAYS THAT YOU CAN GET A HOLD OF US.

BUT BY MOVING TO A DEDICATED NIGHT SOME NIGHTS, THIS IS A SHORTER AGENDA.

BUT THERE ARE NIGHTS THAT WE'VE GOT THOUSANDS OF PAGES TO PREPARE AND READ, AND OUR FOCUS IS MOVING THROUGH THE AGENDA.

SO IT SOMETIMES WE'RE NOT ABLE TO DEDICATE AS MUCH TIME AND FOCUS ON WE'D LIKE TO TO THE COMMUNITY INPUT.

SO I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO HAVE A FULL, DEDICATED TIME TO COMMUNITY INPUT THAT THAT IS OUR ONLY THING THAT WE'RE DOING.

THE NIGHT'S GOING TO BE A GREAT IMPROVEMENT FOR US MOVING FORWARD AND THE COMMUNITY TO HAVE THAT DEDICATED NIGHT AS WELL.

I THINK THE YOU KNOW, OUR COMMUNITY HAS REALLY BECOME VERY ENGAGED WITH THE BOARD OVER THE LAST YEAR TO 18 MONTHS, AND WE HAVE NOTICED REALLY SINCE LAST YEAR THAT THERE'S JUST BEEN A NEED OF BY THE COMMUNITY TO BE ABLE TO HAVE JUST A MORE ACCESS POINTS TO THE BOARD. AND I LOVE THE IDEA OF THE COMMUNITY INPUT NIGHT.

AGAIN, IT'S YOU KNOW, WE NEVER WANT TO PRESENT A STONE WALL TO THE COMMUNITY.

WE WANT TO BE OPEN AND WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THE INFORMATION THAT'S IMPORTANT FOR YOU ALL TO SHARE TO US.

AND THERE ARE WAYS IN WHICH WE CAN ENGAGE IN A BACK AND FORTH CONVERSATION, AND WE MEET WITH PARENTS ALL THE TIME AND TEACHERS AND STAFF AND SOME STUDENTS AS WELL.

BUT TO BE ABLE TO COLLECTIVELY GET YOUR VOICES HEARD BEFORE ALL SEVEN OF US AT THE SAME TIME, THAT'S MORE CHALLENGING BECAUSE OF LAWS THAT WE ARE.

WE ARE WE HAVE TO FOLLOW.

WE ARE RESTRICTED IN CERTAIN WAYS.

AND SO WE WANT TO HEAR, YOU KNOW, WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR CONCERNS ABOUT OUR THE ACTION ITEMS AND WHICH ARE PRESENTED TO US AT OUR REGULAR BOARD MEETINGS EVERY MONTH.

AND NOW WITH COMMUNITY INPUT NIGHTS.

NOW WE'LL HAVE A COUPLE OF HOURS TOGETHER, ANOTHER TIME THROUGHOUT THE MONTH SO THAT WE CAN HEAR MORE GENERAL COMMENTS AND CONCERNS OUR FIRST COMMUNITY.

AND AT NIGHT I SEE SOME FAMILIAR FACES.

I KNOW SOME OF YOU WERE HERE, SOME REALLY GREAT THINGS CAME OUT OF THAT.

I MEAN, THINGS THAT WE WE HAD STUDENTS THAT SHOWED UP THAT REALLY HAD SOME INTERESTING THOUGHTS ABOUT SOME FINANCIAL LITERACY OPTIONS FOR OUR COMMUNITY OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

AND SO IT'S A REALLY NICE THING FOR US TO BE ABLE TO COLLECTIVELY AS A GROUP OF SEVEN AND DR. WALDRIP, OUR TEAM OF EIGHT TO BE ABLE TO HEAR FROM THE COMMUNITY ABOUT THINGS THAT MIGHT NOT NECESSARILY BE ON THE AGENDA.

SO I THINK THAT'S PROBABLY THE MOST POSITIVE THING THAT CAME OUT OF OF THIS REVISION FOR FOUR BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES.

SO, YES, THANK YOU.

CAN I PLEASE? YES, PLEASE.

SO IT'S INTENDED.

THE COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE CAME UP THAT IS AN INTENTION TO MAKE MORE MEANINGFUL WHAT WE USED TO CALL OUR COFFEE TALKS AND KIND OF MORPHED INTO THE INSIDE SCOOP.

BUT THOSE NEVER REALLY ENDED UP BEING WHAT WE HOPE THEY WOULD BE, WHICH WOULD BE A MORE ENGAGING TIME FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO BE ABLE TO ASK THE BOARD QUESTIONS, GET FEEDBACK AND THAT KIND OF THING. SO OUR HOPE IS THAT THIS IS GOING TO BE A STEP IN THAT DIRECTION.

AND I THINK FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T BEEN THERE BEFORE, WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM IT.

ANYBODY. CORRECT ME IF I DON'T HAVE A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF IT.

BUT BUT WHEN WE HAVE PEOPLE COME UP AND SPEAK DURING THESE EVENINGS, IN THE FUTURE, EVERYBODY WILL GET A RESPONSE AND IT WILL BE A PUBLIC RESPONSE.

AND IT WILL LIKELY NOT BE IN REAL TIME BECAUSE SOME OF THESE THINGS TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF TIME FOR STAFF TO DIG INTO AND THEN PROVIDE FEEDBACK.

BUT THEY WILL BE PUBLISHED ON THE WEBSITE SO EVERYBODY WILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO SEE IT, NOT ONLY THE PERSON THAT ORIGINALLY SPOKE, IF THEY'RE NOT DIRECTLY REACHED OUT TO, BUT ANYBODY THAT HAS THE SAME QUESTION OR IS INTERESTED IN THAT.

SO I THINK THAT'S IMPORTANT TO.

TO NOTE, I GET THAT RIGHT.

OK. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I WANTED TO SHARE AS FAR AS THE COMMUNITY INPUT NIGHTS WERE CONCERNED ARE REALLY LIKE HOW IT GIVES US AN OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR FROM THE COMMUNITY IN A SEPARATE PLATFORM LIKE THEY'RE GIVING THEIR FEEDBACK ON THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS RATHER THAN HAVING TO DEAL WITH THAT.

AND WHAT IS ON THE AGENDA ITEM, BEING ABLE TO FOCUS ON THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY IN ONE SETTING AND HAVING OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS, PARENTS AND EVEN TEACHERS COME AND SPEAK WITH US CONCERNING THEIR CONCERNS OR REGARDING THEIR CONCERNS.

I ALSO WANTED TO JUST HIGHLIGHT THAT, SO WE'VE KIND OF TALKED ABOUT PUBLIC COMMENT THAT ANOTHER COMPONENT THAT WE REALLY TOUCHED ON WERE THE VACANCY PROCESS ON THE BOARD.

SO PREVIOUSLY, OUR OPERATING PROCEDURES WERE PRETTY QUIET ON THE PROCESS USED BY THE BOARD FOR FILLING A VACANCY BY APPOINTMENT.

AND SO WE'VE GONE IN AND AMENDED THE PROCEDURES SPECIFICALLY SO THAT AN APPLICATION AND INTERVIEW PROCESS WILL BE UTILIZED AND WE WILL ASSIGN KIND OF THE ROLE OF DRAFTING THE APPLICATION AND GUIDELINES FOR REVIEW OF THE APPLICATIONS FOR BOARD OFFICERS AS WELL.

[00:45:03]

SO WE'RE TRYING TO IN LOOKING AT ALL OF OUR BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES GOING FROM, YOU KNOW, THE VACANCY PROCESS TO PUBLIC COMMENTS TO HOW WE OPERATE ON SUBCOMMITTEE STRUCTURES. WE'VE GONE FROM AN EIGHT PAGE DOCUMENT TO A 20 PAGE DOCUMENT.

AND SO OUR GOAL IN THAT IS TO JUST PROVIDE MORE TRANSPARENCY ABOUT THE WAY WE OPERATE AS A BOARD AND SO THAT THEY CAN SEE PROCESS IS ANOTHER COMPONENT THAT I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT BEFORE WE MOVED FOR A VOTE.

WHAT OTHER COMPONENT TIMELINE ON? FIRST, SO I DON'T HAVE A DATE.

OUR NEXT COMMUNITY INPUT NIGHT WILL BE IN FEBRUARY AND YOU'LL YOU CAN FIND THAT ON OUR WEBSITE AND ON THE DISTRICT CALENDAR.

I DON'T KNOW THE DATE OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, BUT THAT WILL BE OUR NEXT.

IS IT THE 4TH FEBRUARY 4TH? THANK YOU, NATALIE. AWESOME.

NOT ONLY THAT IS INCORRECT.

JUST KIDDING. IT'S IN FEBRUARY, THOUGH, AND SO WE'LL GET A DATE.

WE'LL PUT THAT OUT THERE AS WELL.

SO IT'S WHAT? FEBRUARY 28TH, OK, FEBRUARY 28TH IS OUR NEXT COMMUNITY INPUT NIGHT.

SO MARK YOUR CALENDARS.

WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS BOARD ROOM FILLED WITH FOLKS WHO HAVE THINGS TO SHARE WITH US.

UM BOARD, IF YOU IF THERE AREN'T ANY OTHER COMMENTS, ANY CONCERNS, THEN I WILL LOOK FOR A MOTION ON CONSIDERING ACT ON AMENDMENTS TO BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES.

I MOVED TO ADOPT THE RECOMMENDED AMENDMENTS TO THE BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES, AS PRESENTED.

A MOTION BY MS. DAVIS, SECOND BY MR. RUDY, ALL IN FAVOR. MOTION PASSES SIX ZERO.

THANK YOU BOARD AND THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THIS PROCESS.

I KNOW IT WAS A IT WAS A BIG UNDERTAKING AND IT'S SOMETHING THAT WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON SINCE THE SUMMER. AND I THINK THAT SELF-EVALUATION THAT WE DID AS A BOARD REALLY HIGHLIGHTED THAT THAT WAS AN IMPORTANT THING FOR US TO DO MOVING FORWARD.

AND SO I WOULD ENCOURAGE BOARDS ACROSS TEXAS TO SPEND SOME TIME ON THOSE OPERATING PROCEDURES. I THINK THAT WE'VE LEARNED WE LEARNED A LOT FROM OTHER BOARDS AND I HOPE THAT WITH OUR REVISIONS THAT THAT WILL HELP OUR COLLEAGUES IN OTHER DISTRICTS AS WELL.

[8.C. Consider and act on possible payment of legal fees for the defense of employees in complaints filed by a student's parent with the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners regarding actions taken by the employees within the scope of their employment with Frisco ISD.]

SO YOU GUYS ALL KNOW THAT WE CLOSED LONE STAR HIGH SCHOOL ON DECEMBER 13 AND DECEMBER 14 AS A MATTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND BOARD POLICY DEA LOCAL REQUIRES US TO CONTINUE PAYING ANY EMPLOYEE THAT COULDN'T FULFILL THEIR WORK SCHEDULE THAT DAY BECAUSE THEIR WORK SITE WAS CLOSED. SO WE WENT AHEAD AND DID THAT IN THIS RESOLUTION IS JUST TO APPROVE THOSE PAYMENTS. BOARD, IF YOU HAVE NO QUESTIONS, I WILL LOOK FOR A MOTION.

AND WE ARE ALWAYS GOING TO PUT OUR STUDENTS AND OUR STAFF AND TEACHERS FIRST AND EVERY DECISION THAT WE MAKE, AND WE CERTAINLY ARE APPRECIATIVE OF ALL OF THE PROFESSIONALS THAT CAME TOGETHER TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERY SINGLE INCH OF THAT SCHOOL WAS A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR KIDS AND TEACHERS AND STAFF.

SO TO FRISCO POLICE DEPARTMENT, PLANO POLICE DEPARTMENT, I KNOW THERE WERE THERE WERE OFFICERS FROM FROM MULTIPLE MUNICIPALITIES THAT CAME IN TO HELP US WITH THAT AND WE ARE INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL AND APPRECIATIVE AND WILL CONTINUE TO TO MAKE THOSE DECISIONS THAT KEEP OUR KIDDOS SAFE.
